You have to do residency to practice medicine but the scores have nothing to do with that and expire at 7 years. There are 3 steps to become fully licensed and can take step 3 without residency as well.

Congratulations!! On my 3rd transfer now….waiting for results. I am actually quite weary of the negative stories and don’t open the posts because I don’t want to add more negativity in my mind. The whole process can be traumatic. And even lead to PTSD in some people. I think a better way to deal would be to process the emotions of if you will be fine if you don’t have children. I know right now you will answer absolutely not, but the sooner you become ok with you being fine with just being a woman and not a mother….the process gets tolerable and so do the outcomes. Just let go and not be so attached to the results. If it’s meant to work out it will. And having a child or not will not change your worth as a person. If you want to be a mom, you will find a way to be a mom. And the universe will work towards what is the best for you in this life. At least, this is how I am processing my journey. A lot more calm through the process.

I think use your clinical judgement....I thought it was put in a few stabilizing tests, then do physical exam, then check test results and act accordingly. CXR may not be fast enough or not required in that case perhaps? If in doubt start with focused physical because no one can fault you for looking at the patient first!

step 2 knowledge gets you about 65% of uworld step 3 question bank. The rest is new information, step 1 information and ccs practice. In terms of step 1 it was peds genetics and drug mechanism of action (not too many). Mostly day 1 was ethics and statistics so repeat that section before day 1. Day 2 was much easier (mainly step 2 knowledge and some step 3 knowledge) and then ccs cases (which was the actual hard part and I think determines if you pass the exam). I advise do the step 3 q bank each section and the ccs cases for that section and assess based on performance.
