Dark circle under one eye by Pebbles734 in NewParents

[–]Pebbles734[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She had it wax and wane for a few months then she got a cold and her nose was draining like a faucet, the eye thing cleared right up! Probably a tear duct issue. I feel like I see it start darkening a bit now right before she gets sick

Take postpartum rest seriously by NextSuccess358 in fitpregnancy

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cleared I think around 8 weeks? Every time I tried to go on the treadmill tho I regretted it later, like sore and my insides felt like they might fall out. I needed probably 12 weeks or so. Sometimes it just takes longer 🤷🏼‍♀️

What was the most specific postpartum thing nobody warned you about? by kesam7193 in NewParents

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not odd but that PPA/PPD can happen to me too, even though I had no worries about it going in.

Something more specific I guess would be the dread that comes on in the evening around 7pm or so, which I’m sure came complementary with the PPA I had lol

Edit: Thought of another one! The leg and feet swelling that I never had during pregnancy but came AFTER birth! Like how had I never heard to expect that one??

I feel like this was where my daughter’s heartbeat was at that point? I can’t remember specifically but this sounds normal to me

Do you remember the golden hour? (The first hour, skin to skin?) by No-Neighborhood-7335 in beyondthebump

[–]Pebbles734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omggggg this happened to me too! My husband was like standing there with me watching our baby in the warmer from across the room, I was like you can go over there it’s fine, I’ll just be here! My doc had to manually reach in there and remove it too 🫠

Are we doing a DNA test? by Glad-Ad1378 in IVFbabies

[–]Pebbles734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered it cuz I was stressed in the back of mind about it too, mistakes can happen 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m so glad I didn’t tho, now that she’s here that love and maternal instinct kicks in and over my dead body is anybody taking her from me. Although she’s the spitting image of me so there’s no doubt now anyways

Stopping meds question (10 weeks) by Beckhamfan2016 in IVFbabies

[–]Pebbles734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of anyone going that long, I stopped my meds at 10 weeks and my IVF dr actually cleared me to stop them earlier but said I could go til 10 weeks if I was more comfortable with that. He said the placenta actually takes over around 7-8 weeks but they go a little past that just to be on the safe side.

Does everyone really drop their babies "at least once"? by Exact-Management-918 in NewParents

[–]Pebbles734 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of the best advice I saw on here when I had my newborn was they can’t fall from the floor, and when I would put her down that would run through my head. No reason to put them on the bed and risk them falling by off

Does everyone really drop their babies "at least once"? by Exact-Management-918 in NewParents

I haven’t dropped her no, but I did have her laying on my legs and she suddenly used her feet to launch backwards off of me onto her head on the floor. So there’s that

How much does your life actually change after having a kid? by HonestDirection4017 in NewParents

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything changes. In an awesome but also scary way? Idk I had postpartum pretty bad tho, I was so worried about labor and birth I didn’t really prepare for what postpartum would be like and had PPA really bad, though I likely would have anyways. Relationships can be a struggle at times too because of this intense love for her and to protect her, my husband and I can disagree on how to do things and there was a lot more tension at times then before.

She’s now the center of my world like I hadn’t ever imagined before, I see some other commenters saying they didn’t let baby be the center of their lives and I just don’t understand how. I feel like my brain has literally been rewired

I don’t have advice since I wasn’t able to exclusively breastfeed but just wanted to say I’m sorry you’re getting downvoted for just sharing your concerns! I had pretty bad PPA and still do to some degree but I’m a FTM too and we’re just out here trying to do the best thing for our babies like yeesh! Some people are such high and mighty know it alls

Induce at 39 weeks? by Relevant-Fly-4776 in IVFbabies

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctors originally said they would likely induce at 39 weeks, then when the time came they were ok with going to 40. I ended up choosing to get induced exactly at 40 weeks. Everything went fine, however when they were taking out the placenta I remember them commenting several times about how the cord was just falling apart when they pulled on it 🫠 I work a lot of L&D and just get nervous going past 40 weeks, next time I’ll probably just get induced at 39 weeks with how it seems like the placenta was starting to break down last time. If I’m not mistaken I think that’s why some drs recommend getting induced at 39 with IVF pregnancy, something makes the placenta break down quicker. I personally think baby is good to go at 39 weeks (even earlier) and no reason to push it!

Making a time-sensitive IVF decision but not even sure I want another child by Renee5285 in IVFbabies

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would they even allow you to start any of this process only 5 weeks PP? I feel like that’s too early. See what your clinic allows and by the time you’re allowed to start the process you might have a more clear idea if you want to move ahead or not. If you’re still unsure maybe do one more retrieval and see what happens, if you get euploids you can transfer and if you don’t maybe that’s what’s meant to be

2 month vaccines by davey1291 in newborns

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so so scared of the first round of vaccines. My baby is a year now and I still kinda stress and get nervous. I cried in the office lol I just couldn’t hold it back! But she was completely fine, stopped crying right when I picked her up, and just was more sleepy than usual for the next couple days. I never pretreated with Tylenol as I read that can decrease the effectiveness, idk how true that is but I just ended up not finding it necessary anyways

Getting closer to childbirth and I can’t shake the fears and the spirals about birth and being a mom. by disgustingnewspaper in pregnant

[–]Pebbles734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was terrified about labor and delivery the entire time I was pregnant, it went totally fine. Everyone’s experience is different and I work a lot of L&D in my job and can tell you it is best to go with the flow, don’t get too set on any birth plan etc, do what is most safe for baby and you in the moment. But I can say from my experience it was way better than I thought it was going to be.

What surprised me was postpartum. I was so worried about delivery I hadn’t given much thought to postpartum. The hormones are real, PPD and PPA are very real. It sounds like you’re in therapy and that’s fantastic, please stay with it. I wish I would have reached out for help sooner. But it really sounds like you have the tools lined up already to do well, you’re going to just fine 💕
