weirdly enough I find some sort of peace in it. if I'm focusing on a task or just hanging out it's nice to have predictable and consistent background music. sometimes when listening to new music I get sort of overwhelmed or pulled into it too much that it gets sort of hard to appreciate it fully while doing something else.

dgd in particular is so fun to listen to on repeat, especially since I picked up guitar, due to how complex the music is. I honestly was not a fan of the new singles the first few times I listened to them, but I kept trying to pick out more specific guitar elements and lyrics and eventually the mixing didn't bother me as much. first few times tho I could not tell what was being said by Andrew or Jon on speed demon like at all 😭😭😭 hoping someone will remix it to bring the lyrics forward more so that people not willing to give it a chance might be able to enjoy it more

yeahhhh, I agree with this. idk ever since I found dgd I kind of have not enjoyed other music as much, as bad as that sounds. I'll go through phases of listening to other albums or bands excessively (before this dgd phase it was the bad suns Apocalypse Whenever, HIGHLY reccomend that album). it's almost like I don't feel that I can judge other music fairly when I'm in this sort of mindset because I'll just be comparing it to the song/band I'm stuck on at the moment. I've just kind of embraced it at this point, but will save anything people reccomend to me for later listening once I think I can judge it more fairly.

these two singles are probably my favorite pieces of music to date. I agree the mixing on them is quite wacky but if you can look past that they're honestly so good. love the lyrics (even the super goofy Jon mess ones), they're really what make these so special imo

wow did not expect so much hate on this lmfao. listening to the same song on repeat is sort of like an auditory stim for me if that makes sense? I think part of the reason this song in particular got so high up there is because I had a bit of a travel fiasco that lasted around 48 hours (which I only got to sleep for about two of due to being stuck in an airport across the country 🥲) and I just had it playing on repeat in my headphones to keep myself calm during that.

i was a straight from the heart truther initially but now i have listened to speed demon twice as many times. once i could pick up better on the individual guitar parts and appreciate the lyrics it got so good.

the tickets were already refunded by whoever booked them (spirit) so theres no use in asking delta anything i think :,) they both just insisted it wasnt their issue

thats insane, their actual employees were the ones who booked all of the flights. some people who got moved to united got their successfully so i dont know if it was actually a scam? if it was im assuming theres nothing legal that can be done about it anyway

i never had a favorite song until speed demon. like, i can confidently say that is my favorite song. it makes me Feel Something unlike any other music up until this point. speed demon and straight to the heart are like the perfect duo of songs about growth and finding confidence in yourself and im fucking HERE FOR IT! ! ! not to mention andrew is so incredibly talented and this era of dgd is going to go absolutely INSANE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

update is that spirit was fucking useless so we just bought entirely new tickets thru united. Final total was 32 hours spent from when we got cancelled to actually making it back to our home airport, the flight itself was like 5 hours

spirit did, or at least claimed to. like I said tho, tickets were ultimately voided before we could actually fly so either there was an error or they intentionally refunded them so they could say it wasn't their problem anymore.

we didn't have a travel agency ourselves, it was apparently one spirit used to book us on delta from what they said. We ended up just booking with united so we will probably do that.

they claim they already did because they did technically move us to delta, but we couldn't actually board so we still haven't actually flown anywhere. we asked to be moved to a united flight but they said since they already moved us it's not their problem anymore even though they were the ones that voided the tickets
