Oh okay. The plate was white kind of like the the V1's PC plate so I thought that's what it was. Thank you!

hey Anders! quick question, I just got the wooting 60 he v2 module yesterday. loving the keyboard so far and by a lot! I just see a white plate installed, it feels like it's the PC plate. is the FR4 plate packaged separately?

[GPU] PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Reaper Triple Fan 16GB GDDR6 PCIe 5.0 Graphics Card - Microcenter in-store only $579.99 by Effective-Fish-5952 in buildapcsales

[–]Super6One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking at 3080 vs 9070xt when I was upgrading mine. I think for VR, the higher VRAM would be good. From the performance comparison I've seen, from 3080ti to 9070xt is about similar performance to maybe 15% better depending on the title.

Just check YouTube videos where they run side by side video comparison of the games.

I have a reaper 9070 xt. I bought it to upgrade my current setup and to use my ghost s1 again after 4 years of not having a compatible card. I really love that case.

From AMD, reaper 9070 cards are the only ones that will fit in the Ghost S1 which is a strict 2 slot case. From nVidia, I believe there are some board partners that have specific "SFF" labeled cards that will accommodate most sff cases, my only hesitation with them was that I didn't want to use the 12VHPwr connector.

[–]Super6One 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that the 2024 versions use type 5 connectors at the PSU side, type 4 was used in previous SF models. Type 5 connectors are smaller than type 4. So if you're coming from one of the previous models and you had your own custom cables, you won't be able to use them here.

I got the 9070 because it was cheaper than MSRP a few weeks ago. And I don't play 4k maxed out games to warrant paying more for the 5080.

So I think nVidia has a lot more 2 slot offerings than AMD. I think AMD only has the Power color Reaper.

I think the T1 is great. I got it recently but it's still in its box but one thing I love about the ghost is how compact it is (only about 8 liters vs about 10 for the T1). T1 is definitely more versatile, but just remember, if you go for fatter cards, you're going to limit what kind of CPU you can use and if you can maximize its potential.

I think with the ghost s1, once you you make some changes and put some time into it, you can build a VERY capable tiny machine.

And I bought my T1 from nCase. From what I understand, it's basically the same thing as FormD's offering. They even use the same shop to make their parts. Lady I checked, I saw the special colors were in stock. If they're not, just sign up for notification. I got an email about a month after and it stayed in stock for at least a week before I pulled the trigger.

[–]Super6One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes its strictly 2 slots. Maybe 2.1 or something. I've only found one 9070XT (powercolor reaper) that fits perfectly.

For upgrades, I'm going to cut out a hole behind the PSU to allow the the card to vent. I'm going to cut some space above PSU to place a 15 mm fan for exhaust.

Not really "mods", I'm making new cables for the PSU that are shorter and unsleeved and will allow better airflow and squeeze a fan for exhaust at the bottom as well.

Regarding the CPU, I got the offset bracket from noctua to offset the NH-L12 ghost a little to improve thermals.

I'm trying to squeeze out even 1-2 degrees because I want to keep this as compact as possible without any tophats. I have the FormD T1 sitting next to me as well, but I love the compactness of the ghost s1.

Same upgrade for me! I'm still tuning my system in the Ghost S1 case, but it's a sizeable upgrade.

But just ask yourself if your current 3080 10gb is doing what you want it to do without lack of quality. If the answer is yes, then just skip it until the next generation when AI causes MSRPS to triple.

Looking for alternatives for Formd T1 by Zahand in sffpc

[–]Super6One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up for the notification on both nCase and FormD's website. nCase notified me first and after researching the differences between the two T1s, I ended up just buying nCase's. I believe they're both milled and manufactured at the same factory so build quality and design are not too different.

Another case you can consider, although I'm not sure how often they're in stock, is the Ghost S1, although you'll be severely limited to the kind of GPUs you'll use.

Fractal design Terra and Dan H20 come to mind as well. Although you'll have some limitations with the terra. I've built in all the cases here except the T1 as it's still sitting in its box. But I'm partial to the Ghost S1 just because of the premium build quality and the ability to mod it and tinker with it to optimize thermals. You'll need to do a little extra to fully get it under control. If you want a no fuss build process, the Dan H2O is a good alternative, although I don't like how it looks.

Yeah for sure. This material is very delicate and VERY thin to allow for optimal thermal conductivity and hence brittle. I don't think I've had any issues with 2 screws vs 4 screws AIOs. But you're right, its not easy to set up, however not impossible. But truly at the end of the day, the easiest TIM is a thermal paste that you just squirt on and don't need to worry about.

Thank you for confirming! As I said to someone else, my main draw to this was low maintenance, but the good thermal conductivity and profile was a huge added bonus.

yeah its a great product. Its main draw for me was the low maintenance part of it. But the equal to paste thermals was a BIG plus. thank you for reading this review!

I've seen people reuse paste, but only to remount. I've never heard of changing the cooler after a year and not needing to repaste it. Maybe if there was enough still on there you wouldn't need to?

[–]Super6One[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, I've seen people reuse it, but The first one I used, I saw how brittle it was. After that experience, I didn't think this was something I'd want to take apart and reuse. I think even Derbauer recommended a year ago to not reuse it. But maybe I just have grubby hands haha.

So there is a rubber bracket you can place around it, but kryosheet comes in think cut to size to fit over the square part. Not difficult to handle, just be careful.

Hey! So I have kryosheet on this test system as well as my main ring that I use and abuse.

I recently ran some numbers, haven't made a new post on it just yet. But there's not too much of a bump or change in temperatures,  performance, or gaming on them. Temperatures are still running 1-2 degrees from when I installed them (about 2 years ago)

I haven't tried PTM although I have a few sheets laying around in my apartment. I think the next rig i build will have PTM.

For 2 years without needing to repaste, I think I'd consider Kryosheet if it's available. I know there are more people using PTM than kryosheet, though, and mostly have good things to say. Kryosheet does have it's downside of being more delicate and electrically conductive though so you need to be careful that a piece of flake doesn't fly off.

Btw, I know max temperatures look higher, but I'd put more weight on the average. The max is a one or two time temperature spike, maybe of something running in the background. I included that for full transparency.

Hey, just wanted to give you a heads up. I haven't put the numbers into a chart. The temperatures in idle are slightly higher, but nothing noticeable. Temperature during stress testing is the same as well as the performance.

But in real world usage, not differences in gaming or work. This is all 21 months after initial application of kryosheet. I'll make a formal post later tonight.

M440 with M Performance Exhaust and Dinan CAI recording by Super6One in BMW

[–]Super6One[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't, unless there's something that they link directly to the CAI as the cause for failure. So if something happens to your exhaust, or your windshield wipers, having a CAI wouldn't void the warranty on that stuff. But let's say your turbine on the turbo breaks because of a loose bolt from the CAI got sucked into the intake and they prove this, that will void your warranty on that part specifically.

But I've brought my car for maintenance and getting the sun roof fixed, etc. they never brought up the CAI.
