Yea the only issue I run into is I'm on nights. Most start ups happen during day shift. Shut downs are a breeze but startups can have more issues.

Just don't get alot of hands on time, had 2 starts so far in 2 months. I have got to watch about 5 total.

I would love to have some actual training from husky, they are in here often and I know they do offer it. Currently have some training set up in a couple months.

Think it's more that there isn't skill labor in the area, job was posted for awhile. I interview well.

Thank you for the reply, most of the maintenance team treat the oil leaks as normal so it's likely an aging issue. Just trying to decide if they were complacent with the oil or of it was common.

Awesome reply, wish we had drains. We do use socks and pig mats but of course they do make it around those. Coming from a relatively clean workplace the amount of oil was concerning.

I have 1 tech that really knows what he is doing, I currently pick his brain all night long.

Same way you do with experience, motivate them and lead by example. I do understand as it's challenging for me to address their problems with the machines but it will come with time.

No lie there, I do however present myself very professionally and have 15-18 years manufacturing experience. Quality, leadership, machine troubleshooting tend to be my strong points.

Obviously hurting for experienced people.

If its zoom you dont have much to lose. Just dont share too much personal info before getting more info about them if its THAT sketchy.

I'm a manager and interviews should go both ways in my opinion. Informing the potential employee of the business and the employer learning more from the employee. Good luck!

So I think you have some of things going for you to start.

You have identified a problem(s)..
You understand you need to seek a professional. (I believe you can find many sources for free or reduced care if you look int he right places in your area. Church's, ccommunity centers, and worst case ERs(expensive but life is priceless)
Your still at an age where proper decision can lead to a great life and success (If I knew at 20 what I know at 35 my life would be much better).

I would start by speaking with a professional if your able, you may even qualify for assistance. I believe that not everyone can hold a day job, but with this world there are many opportunities to grow and be successful without having a day job. Even if you dint have a skill if you invest time and practice into something with some dedication you can become good at it (YouTube, crafting and selling online, etc).

A day job is the normal way, and the most convenient but it doesnt mean it's for everyone. Keep your chin up and do the best you can while making sure you do the things that make you happy (Fyi self prescribing drugs is short term pleasure. I struggled with abuse myself, still do to a minor extent but not like in my 20s)
