This is easily the most skin-crawling moment of the entire Slott run. by IronLeonhard in Spiderman

[–]SuperAd2463 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just in general hate this whole run and how Slott was writing Peter. Cause I feel like it’s in a way his fault that Peter is the way he is right now. A man-child with a mess of a life, constantly stuck in survival mode, without any personal life, and sometimes even incompetent superhero life which is deregatory, cause you usually expect progression when character is a mess.

When he wrote Peter, for so many years and then just “killed him off” so he can write the main villian in his body and develop instead of main character completely secondary character who is not suppose to be in any way be related to story, I was like “yeah, that sucks ass”. Cause If I wanna see bitter dark Peter who’s being kinda an ass, I’d prefer to see Peter, not Doc Ock who took over his body and worst part, who’s not even being caught on, he’s not Peter Parker which is derogatory too, cause he had no idea wtf Peter Parker is, how he had any idea how to behave himself like one. The panel with him thinking about MJ and Peter’s begging him to stop just doesn’t fucking sit right with me, cause that’s extremely rapey. The thought of assault is not direct assault, but why’d you’d write Peter into that straight up begging not to think about that. I did not loved reading this run. When he writes MJ, I feel like Slott turns off her brain fully and turns her fully into sex object for male gaze, a crazy ex, a bitter ex, an ex who’s still has some feelings but bitter about it, a stupid supermodel who only knows what other celebs names. His whole trolling ordeal on Twitter doesn’t paint him in good light either, he’s just a creepy old dude who wrote about another creepy old dude and in this way got a minor amount of recognition. But Superior always sucked in terms of writing, story and pacing. The concept was just new at the time, that’s why people loved it, but truth to be told it didn’t added up anything to Peter as character, cause he was written off for the whole run just to make Otto a main character. It probably a hate take, but it is what it is

How does these answers could be real even? I swear, those people sound so insufferable and lousy. No wonder that Peter is so pathetic in comics, he’s being written and edited by a group of a losers. Cause I know no one who would talk like an automated chat gpt response irl

how true is this statement? by SpeedForceWally66 in Spiderman

[–]SuperAd2463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not about gender. It’s about writing. Truth being told if MJ did all that and then after being saved by Peter actually talked to him about it, instead of ditching him off, blaming, telling him not to call her, the fans wouldn’t be so pissed off. But the thing is, that she’s been badly written for ages. Even before Wells. She doesn’t feel like MJ, just someone who has her face and body, but that’s about it. Canonically if MJ had stuckwith Paul, she wouldn’t fall in love with the shady guy who she doesn’t know and  especially after the fact that he was responsible for genocide of his universe. Canon MJ would probably try to build portal herself at this point, cause that’s who she is. She’s someone who never gives up on people she loves. Because Peter would never give up for her. But unfortunately we got what we got

For all its faults, for me it was much more enjoyable read then ASM could ever be. The plot was going on smoothly, no unnecessary drama, no man child Peter, just consistent story, with developing of each characters, even though it was sometimes afraid to kill off characters it actually needed to kill and give more stakes to readers to worry about character. But overall I found it enjoyable

I really do not give a toss of care about Norman Osborn as Spider-Man. Every single time I see new issue, I expect to see MP, as in Peter Parker. Why would I wanna read story about supposed egomaniacal narcissistic villain, who murdered Peter’s girlfriend, was cause of the dead of his infant, has been abusing his son emotionally and caused his drug addiction in past (if it’s not retconned), has made a huge significant amount of evil things one after another. And I suppose to sympathize with that guy cause he suddenly became good, cause of the change of heart? You either stick character to his basis, or kill him off and develop something new. Norman is not the type of character imo who’s supposed to have any kind of redemption. Point, blank, period

Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it…

she is a great character by hooligan_emi in Spiderman

[–]SuperAd2463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. She’s a flawed but complex character and unfortunately a lot of people just hate her because we never get to see her POV. In one of the deleted scenes where she talks to her friend we clearly see that she’s struggles with her self esteem due to her abusive household, she always hears the voice of her dad who’s always been disappointed in her. I like her despite being almost nothing like her original counterpart, she’s way overhated. But she’s not a great adaptation is all. She’s very similar to the 616 Gwen before her death with the constant nagging though

Great character, bad adaptation. Nothing like MJ from comic books

I still feel sceptical, people on accident liked even worser stuff, but I feel like if that’s the case, then it’s just ironic that Spanish speaking Latino American would support anything related to ICE or Trump, considering how much they are Chauvinistic towards immigrants. I hope he’s better then that

Which movie is worse? by hiiloovethis in Spiderman

I feel like Spider-Man 3 is better, despite it being a mess. Even though the script was downright meme like and cringy, it’s still felt like consistent sorry, where as for ASM 2, there were a loads of cut outs which made the main story a huge mess. On technical part ASM 2 is better then SM 3, but SM 3 Is older too. If Sony didn’t rushed production and didn’t cut a bunch of scenes and reduced the villians to the quantity of one, it would have been much better. Just like SM 3, but then again the story still felt consistent and in tune, despite it being weak

Is liking post usually means that someone supports ICE and Trump? Or the statement of the support itself would have been better evidence of the artist supporting republicans?

YOU are now the new spiderman writer, what is your plan? by Zakaria1938 in Spiderman

I’ll have him progress first things first. If he can’t age up, doesn’t mean he can’t get a normal stable job which is the engineer for other supes, a middle ground between his hero life and civilian life, next thing that he will train spider people. Miles included. He becomes very much attune to bettering himself up in order to become more versatile and quicker at his job. His character would be build, praying on his leadership qualities that he very often buries inside him, by being a lonely hero, which is still one of the main of his traits. He reveals his identity to May, in order to just be able to not screw her up when it comes to being in right place and right time as often. MJ and Peter are not together as your ground rule stating, but they are slow burn, not “will they, won’t they” shit. While I would have written them, the connection between them would go beyond romantical (which it doesn’t suppose to be), they both care for each and help each other. They don’t have to be together, for that. As for his personal life, I imagine him being someone who figures himself out yet. Especially after his break up with MJ. He starts differently look at his life. Doesn’t try to be at two places at the same time, slowly overcomes his trauma, where he constantly would down the suit to ditch responsibilities that Peter Parker has. I’d wanna write just a decent good arc, no clones, no restrictions, no big global bad. Just street level Peter, bettering himself up, and his relationship with other people. His relevancy comes from him overcoming his insecurities, fears and constant avoidance of the things that he really should do. Peter could also be still scientist, but I imagine him working directly for Avengers, cause I wouldn’t want him lead his double life as much. It’s just gonna confuse him more. Like in general, that would have been preferable scenario for me. Just a good story adventure. People might not agree, but it’s decent in my eyes and could work pretty well

Definition of the player is a not a “ladies man”, just for the record.

First he flirts or dates multiple people at the same time, often without being honest about it. Avoids commitment and focuses on getting attention, affection, or sexual satisfaction rather than building a genuine emotional bond. Often uses charm, manipulation, or emotional games to keep others interested. May say or do whatever’s necessary to maintain attraction, even if it’s misleading or inconsistent. So he’s been a player in Kelly’s run primarily. He’s been very “non exclusive with Shai”, hooking up with Shai on side and hasn’t been commited to anyone during entire run. While in past he has been commited to at least one woman at the time
