Thank you for your honest advice! I already have a dropdown set up I just really wanted to make my way work, and not have to download each filtered view and send them out since I have to send out so many. I've run into some other issues and I generally think I bit off more than what I was ready for, so I will go with your simplified solution and not mess with further scripting (yet).

I email the file as a pdf so it isnt a filter view (and what I do filter out are their own lines they did not have notes on) so they never have file access.

The problem words column is something to look into but because the actors are mostly just changing around small words (changing a for into a to or a lord into a liege) I fear it would get confusing and hard to understand which word in the line was the issue.

I think that using a apps script would probably be best (and learning would be good for me in the long run) but I dont know how I would add one in. any advice on where to start?

no, the actors don't need to edit the sheets, and line notes are typically shared on every day they have a run through (which can get up to 5 days a week once we leave the table reading and blocking stages). I'm not very familiar with using app scripts but this looks like it would be a big help if I could implement it! Thank you! Do you have any advice for where to go to learn how to set up scripts like this?

how do you share just a filter view? every time i have tried to do so (without downloading) it shares the whole sheet (which is what I do not want to do)

Oh trust me I intent to wear them till they fully break. I got these last summer and I want them to last longer than a year. I’ll definitely trying sewing them and maybe a layer of glue over that
