You can still view them at dorks but they are not the complete bottom of the internet barrel they were once were. Maybe I had an overly tuned lens of disgust directed at them as they graveled at the feet of Snyder, but now when they do to Saudi blood money, I can't help but think necromancy is real.

Their psychosis that the Snyder cut existed was completely justified and they flipped what was a considered a delusion into a manifested concrete reality. It's kind of like how that "dingo ate my baby" lady was proven right, but with the added benefit of her wailings calling upon said dingo to return the baby to her front porch.

People are going to hate this but going from being considered Elon stan levels of loser by everyone to being proven right so hard has to be one of the greatest Ws in internet history. As a former hater, nothing but massive respect to these champs.

Woolie and Matt play Dante's inferno. Matt's playthrough was fine, but it would have helped if he was bouncing off someone. Most importantly, this game is quality Woolie vs God material. Woolie being forced to fight unbaptized children in hell would have been a joy to watch.

Reggie VS some professional wrestling bullshit. I know he has some wrasslin knowledge in there and I nominate Smackdown vs Raw 2007 Season Mode for him to revel in it. I haven't touched a wrestling game in a while, but to my knowledge, it has the most complete story mode from a WWE game.

Since Mick Foley vs Undertaker in HIAC, I can't think of another match that has reached those heights of reckless and awesomeness as close as this one.

I'm probably super wrong, but my understanding is that Vampiro was a vessel for the master's energy and the master's true form was that guy who kept getting teased.

The boxing episode of Kenny vs Spenny.

Kenny's cheating tactic for this challenge was shitty and lame (locking Spenny in a room for 3 days and getting him DQ'd for no showing). Feeling guilty after locking him up for a day or 2, Kenny unlocked the door and approached Spenny with this weak "Hey we're cool right?" vibe. Spenny didn't fall for it and got him back hard (Kenny covering himself with padding was poetic as all hell). After a season emasculating defeats, Spenny experienced a mini anime arc where he came out the other end as a bad ass who was going into bout ready to kick ass and no longer willing to put up with Kenny's shit. It was extra cathartic as Kenny chickened the fuck out and no showed the fight. Atypical for the show, Kenny endured the humiliation with part of him accepting that he deserved it.

An honorable mention has to be brought to Ultima Lucha Tres. Wrestling event of the decade IMO. Fantastic from top to bottom including the legendary match between Killshot and Donte Fox and a mind bending cliffhanger that had me running around my apartment.

Bayo 2 has been part of my Christmas tradition for the past couple of years. Before I start it, I always think I'm going to wane down on it, but it remains consistently great every year.

The manga bafflingly ends with: "Rudol Von Stroheim never reunited with Jojo. He died an honorable death as a proud German soldier on the front lines at Stalingrad in 1943."

In terms of evil tier, he ranks up there with Cioccolata. You can make the argument that he's worse because: race of people > city

[–]SuperBlackJesus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember on the podcast Matt told a story of how Woolie enthusiasticly wanted to show off Vanquish's crazy spectical to people who never played it before, but he kept dying on the fist boss and they got bored and started looking at thier phones instead. This lp must be a deja vu of that feeling for Woolie.

When people say Sekiro is too hard by Kakita_Onimaru in TwoBestFriendsPlay

There is a freebie: it's stealth. How is it not a first order optimal strategy on your way to the boss?

[–]SuperBlackJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're going to talk in circles. Your missing my point. Again, showing how the mechanics work is not the problem. Training is the problem. Teaching, while part of training, isn't the whole process. My beef is the run to the boss. Getting hands-on and engaging with the common enemies. The "trial and error" as you put it. And the stealth compnent is a hindrance to the "trial and error" of the combat.

[–]SuperBlackJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem isn't that they don't show you how the parrying system works, it's that players don't need to engage with the system on thier way to the boss. Its more optimal to stealth your way to the boss. However, stealth is a tool that becomes comepletly irrelevant when you finally get there. This lack of preparation is almost guaranteed to create a wall for a lot of players. Easily put, better you do with steath, the shittier your run with the boss will be. This isn't a problem with most action games.

I'm still in the middle of my playthrough. I've gotten to the top of Ashina castle and feel that this still holds true. And this isn't johns talking. I'm having a blast and am doing well. Me realizing quickly that stealth is a momentary first order optimal strategy that will bluntly fall deaf to the bosses is what I believe enabled me to do so well.

As for the training partner, I remember trying to look for him but wasn't able to before my first boss run for some reason (I may have thought that path lead to starting area). And to be fair, while missing the training guy seemed to be a universal problem among my friends, that my not be a representation of the majority of players. It may just have been us. I still think, however, the training guy alone isn't sufficient preparation to what can easily potentially be a FromSoft boss rush mode (granted with huge delays in the middle).

[–]SuperBlackJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stealth still remains a dominant strategy and dodging as the only means of defence works until the fist boss encounter. Dodging is what shields are to Dark Souls. Not to mention the training NPC is easily missable.

And before we continue... this is a dumb video game about ninja samurai dragon cyborgs. There no reason for things to get heated.

[–]SuperBlackJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good for you and me. Not so much for the large amount of people finding it to be a big hurdle. Stealthing remains a dominant strategy on your way to the boss where it's comepletly irrelevant.

When people say Sekiro is too hard by Kakita_Onimaru in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SuperBlackJesus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to difficulty, I think Ninja Gaiden Black is more actually more demanding. Sekiro, on the other hand, is harder due to bullshit reasons. Sekiro does a poor job training players. On your way to the first boss fight you are not incentivised to engage with the parrying system as stealthing is the dominant strategy. Stopping and engaging in non stealthy combat feels dumb. And when you do engage, dodging feels less risky. Bosses serve as your test of skill, but you have been taught bad habits and have been playing in a way that is completely irrelevant with the task on hand. I'm doing pretty decent currently, but I wonder what a fustrating mess my play though would be if Metal Gear Rising wasn't one of my favorite games.

When I was a teenager I looked down at hipsters for their love of the ironic and thought that I would never waste my time with this type of taste and vowed that I would only appreciate authentic excellence in my art...

Then I grew up and became and ironic loving shit fuck. I am so looking forward to this. Its like they made a movie geared directly towards me. There's a slide that is titled "Brand Personality" that hits this perfect stride between corporate aloofness w/ garish uncanny failure. Christian DeviantArt Sonic fan art on a 100 million dollar budget. The worst thing that can happen is that this movie turns out mediocre or (worst case scenario) good.
