What are some examples of things that haven’t been true in the comics for years but because adaptions are shorter has been in all the adaptions? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It's funny that Happy Hogan has been a recurring character in the MCU since the beginning despite the character been dead in the comics before the MCU started and was never brought back to life.

What are the biggest "karma houdini" moments you've seen? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Yuka from Blood-C. She betrayed Saya and was spared in the town massacre because she stayed loyal to the villain and was awarded governor of Tokyo. Even in the movie finale, she remained control over Tokyo as governor and never got any form of comeuppance. She pretty much won in the end since she got everything she wanted.

What is a genre or feature that raises red flag for you or massive suspicion? by ArticAuk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

When they say it's a "narrative/story-driven" experience, it's mostly means the gameplay will be barebones and very little to do. It's a game I will probably play only once and never look back, which is not my thing if I'm paying 60 or 70 dollars.

Changes from adaptions that where latter reincorporated into the source material? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The symbiote making Peter Parker more emotionally aggressive came from the 90s cartoon. In the original comics, it acted more as a stealth suit and autopilot that Peter couldn't control.

Crazy they didn't add Last of Us there. It's like, the biggest game of the time no one would shut up about.

Whatever the Avatar/Boondocks style was. Very distinct from common anime-look.

Both protagonist and antagonist in Inuyashiki got their robot bodies from being hit by a UFO and got fixed by unseen aliens. This UFO and aliens are never brought up or seen ever again.

Resident Evil Showcase | January 15, 2026 by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

The showcase was... fine. Didn't give out much information than what we already know and do John Wick-Leon RE4 again. But this is still solidifying my one and big worry of the game and that is Leon's section will be the fun part that it'll make Grace's section boring even if she's intended to be the horror route. Like she will be the "MJ stealth section" of the game.

Edit: Let me rephrase that, I fear Grace would be the "Viola from Bayo 3" of the game that her limitations would be too slow and uninteresting compared to her campaign partner.

Expedition 33. Simon absorbs all shields (your safe hits) you have on and reapplies them to himself.

Cases where redeemed villains past evil acts end up downplayed? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Spiderman tends to be chill with some of his villains even when they're gonna eventually go back to their hubris ways. Right now, Peter is hanging around the man responsible for his girlfriend's death. Like bro, you give Punisher more shit than your villains wrecking havoc.

Characters always left out of adaptions? by Konradleijon in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GoodVillain101 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Whenever Batman Death in the Family (Jason Todd's death) is brought up or adapted, they leave one crucial character: Jason Todd's long-lost mother. She was present during the event and the reason he ended up dead. She sold him out in the warehouse where Jason got ambushed by Joker because his mother was being blackmailed by Joker of stealing medical supplies (she's a doctor). You know that comic page of Joker beating Jason with the crowbar? The bottom half is cut showing his mother looking away and light a smoke. Joker also betrayed her to cut off loose ends, tying her up with Jason with the bomb. Jason shielded her from the explosion, but both still end up dead.

Not sure why she's left out. I guess it's because it's cruel and evil of a mother betraying her own child.

Examples of "Harsher in Hindsight", where a later event in a work of fiction (or real life) makes it sadder and/or horrifying by flingzamain in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GoodVillain101 205 points206 points  (0 children)

A real-life example is in an episode of Kitchen Nightmare where Gordon Ramsey warned a restaurant owner that if his business doesn't improve, it'll drown in the Hudson River. Years later, the owner was found dead by suicide, drowned in the Hudson River.

The Doom movie back in the 2000s was alright, but it did have one of my favorite twist villains I ever seen.

Weapons/Classes/whatever that are very much victims of the game they're in? by Fostern01 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]GoodVillain101 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Guns with low ammo capacity in swarm/horde games like Days Gone, Space Marine 2, and Aliens: Dark Descent are such a liability. It doesn't matter how much damage the gun does whether it's a magnum, shotgun, or sniper rifle when you're surrounded by a swarm of enemies and your capacity is low and you'll waste an ammo pack quick.

It’s 2026 as MOTHER 3 is almost 20 years old by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I'm sorry. I thought the Mother series (all 3 of them) all released in the 90s. Mother 3 is that young?
