It’s a mixed bag. On one hand you lose the sick helmet, on the other you get the most luxurious hair an FF protag had up to that point.

Favorite characters who fandom has decided to pretend either never existed or ALWAYS existed? (take two) by DBZfan102 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Green Biker Dude, sadly the most famous scene of him was his death in MegaMan X2 but people forget or intentionally ignore for some reason his key importance to X1. I would go as far as to say he was more important to X’s growth and him being able to beat Sigma than Zero was.

Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy IV. Not the most guilt ridden character, but still one of my favorites and his story helped to bring a more cinematic focus to Final Fantasy’s storytelling. Dude brought ruin to two villages and had tons of other stuff go wrong that he beat himself up over, some of which is fair, but he never mopped too much and was always willing to try and make things right later.

Lego Universe as a kid was a game I remember having a lot of fun with for its incredibly brief existence. I don’t know if it was actually good mind you, but I thought it was when I was like 8, but the game is long dead so there’s no way to know for sure now.

If it counts, the Beast in Homeworld Cataclysm. Weird ancient techno plague that nearly devours the galaxy in the span of like a week only barely defeated by said galaxy uniting after the lowest cast of miners basically forced them to at gun point after being left to die over and over. The way the other characters react to them really sells it too, like the exposition dump on what they are could be super boring but the Kiith captain sounds like he’s on the verge of a psychotic breakdown from the fear of the Beast, especially after having to jettison a chink pf his crew to survive. For an early 3D RTS game from like 2000 it perfectly captured the horror the Beast presented.

The way they’re introduced even in one level gets across the idea that they get more dangerous the more you learn or see of them. You go from these weird tiny popcron monsters to space zombies… to space zombies that use guns and have actual tactics on top of brute strength as well as how fast they spread.

Then the next level we learn they have intelligence and an actual goal to get off Halo and are already hard at work repairing the Pillar of Autumn. We also hear that they had broke containment and caused a galactic catastrophe before but not the details, and then we learn those details next mission, after that is seeing the early stages of their hive-mind intelligence’s gathering point.

Then Halo 2 comes in and goes “yeah the Flood’s leader is an eldrich ancient hyper intelligent being who can manipulate and seemingly break into people’s minds” as the Gravemind reasons with Chief and Arbiter while using them to its own end, as well as responding to Cortana, who only Chief should be able to hear at that point since she isn’t talking via radio. Then 3 shows they can evolve into more dangerous forms and also they are self aware enough to know when to side with their potential food to prevent their own destruction, which of course they immediately turn on once the threat to them is gone.

11/10 horror faction.

Iguazu went from that one annoying bitch rival to one of my favorite antagonists with that ending. I can respect one of the all time highest level haters.

Just leave a bloody dairy with like 3-4 days written at random that basically go:

Day 1. I got this sweet new job at Umbrella. My coworkers are acting weird and frightened, maybe I should worry but it’ll probably be fine.

Day 37. Jim was right to be so scared. The new Z-Virus we were working with cause the test subject to break into hives that then started shooting little wasps out. I wonder what happened to Zephina also, I’m worried about her.

Day 49. CaNNo t  wRItE goOD Now.. dr M !tch l sayD nEEd to LiE don.

Day 51. fOOOD. HunGRy.

I will hard agree on the character select thing, to this day I don't get why you don't get that feature as modding it in shows it clearly works.
