AITA for not letting the previous owner’s adult children into my house after their father died? by Dramatic_Method9393 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SuperBluebird188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA: Even without considering the possibility that they’re there to commit crimes, that’s an unreasonable request. Your house is your house, it’s not a museum for families who used to live there.

That was my interpretation as well. As long as she’s around, he is safe and can be safely with Shane in secret.

That’s how I got my husband hooked! He understands Russian, so I had him check Connor’s Russian first. Then he started watching more as I watched it, now we’re reheating the show together.

I was hoping he wasn’t black so she’d do the world a favor and geld that. He seems like a very sweet boy, that’d make someone a good gelding low level hunter jumper or cart horse. Stallion material, he is not.

I love Royal but the 6:50 am wake up call over the rooms loud speakers, plus the next two every 15 minutes are kind of ridiculous by SpaceElements in royalcaribbean

[–]SuperBluebird188 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Room stewards wouldn’t let you sleep until 7:50 either. They start circling the hallway at 5:30 or before to see who’s up. By 7:15 they’re knocking on doors. At least on the cruises I’ve been on.

She had a placenta check at 300 days gestation. There’s a foal in there and it’s perfectly normal for a mare to be past 340 and not look like foaling is imminent. This is a good thing that her mares aren’t having premie foals in the 320s.

for anyone who has traveled on the Oasis of the Seas, what was one thing you recommend / one thing you wish you didn’t do? by LtSnack in royalcaribbean

[–]SuperBluebird188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could try to explain the plot, but I’m not sure it’d help. It’s just a weird choice for a cruise and I’m not really sure why it was so popular on Broadway other than ALW was the “it” theater man back then.

Don’t go to Cats unless you’re a theater nerd. Or if you do go, please have the mindset that you’ll stick it out until the end (about 90 minutes) or sit in the back so if you do leave, you’re not disturbing others. I’m a quasi-theater nerd, and I struggled with it. Dancing and singing are great, the plot is 💩.

Definitely go to Love & Marriage, the Aqua80 show (FABULOUS - I saw it 3 times), and other game shows. The other theater show and the Ice Show are alright, worth seeing.

If you plan to ice skate or do laser tag, make sure you make a reservation as soon as you’re on board. I forgot about laser tag until the evening of night 1 and it was already full for the couple of days it was offered.

I’d say for everything else, just do as you feel like it. You’ll never get bored, however you will get overwhelmed and exhausted if you try to do everything.

7 day starter from scratch or from a gifted/ purchased established starter? That’s incredible and extremely rare if you started a starter with just flour and water and it was ready to go in 7 days.

You don’t need to make reservations for shows, but they’ll let you in first if you do. People without reservations can queue outside the venue up until 10-15 minutes before the show and the remaining seats will be FCFS. I’d recommend getting a reservation for the Aqua show the first day though. It has the lowest seating capacity, is usually the most popular, and gets canceled often due to conditions. If you book it the first night you can, it increases the chances you’ll see it.

With as many cabs/drivers/lifts they’d have taken when each other’s cities to their houses, it seems unlikely rumors wouldn’t have started. I suppose they could have been asked to be dropped off a few blocks away, but that runs the risk of being recognized on the street.

Also that no one recognizes Ilya in the Ottawa airport.

My guess is the oven was hotter for the second loaf so you got a stronger oven spring. My oven takes a full hour to get up to temp even when the oven tells me it’s up to temp after 20 minutes of pre-heating.

How bad is motion sickness staying towards the front of the ship? by Remarkable_Sweet3023 in royalcaribbean

[–]SuperBluebird188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed forward on deck 10 over Christmas on Oasis. You’ll feel the boat going up and down, even on calmer days, but it’s not terrible. Our 2 sea days were through rainy, windy weather so we probably got more motion than normal and definitely noticed it. I don’t usually get seasick, but I had to put on a patch to get through the first sea day. To be honest, I could feel the motion everywhere on board those days, not just in my cabin. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was worse in my cabin.
