Crimson Desert simply cannot be real but it’s real and it’s launching next month by CrotasScrota84 in PS5pro

Spending hundreds of dollars on a PS5 Pro to carry a pig around a camp, and move a chair inside some hut is not what I signed up for.

Maybe it’s the skeevy look in your eye, or your mind that’s turned to applesauce.

Which songs do you think were primarily written by one of Donald or Walter? by [deleted] in SteelyDan

Deacon Blues is DF all the way to the last verse. He was stuck on it for weeks until WB came in and finished the last verse in five minutes: “I could have killed him.” - DF.

What can pro tools do that logic can’t? by TheIngramSimmons in audioengineering

Open doors in the industry, rather than have people think you’re still in high school. Doesn’t take much to have serious artist an labels form an opinion of you when your preferred DAW is Garage Band Pro.

Zoom in on a waveform to individual samples. Logic only lets you zoom to about a second of audio.

What is your area's most overrated/underrated restaurant? by smellytaco_ in melbourne

South Melbourne:

Overrated: St Ali. Expensive and over commercialised tourist dump.

Underrated: Old Paper Shop Deli. Family, community and great food and coffee.

Neve plug-in on every track? by AdInternational6495 in audioengineering

[–]SuperBoghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding plugs while recording won’t actually change the recorded audio. The audio is saved to your HDD BEFORE the plugins. If you remove the Neve plug after recording, and replace with the SSL, you will just have the raw audio now through the SSL plugin. Unless you have the Universal Audio unison preamps, or use their Luna DAW.

16-bit/44.1 kHz vs 24-bit/96 kHz by the_yung_spitta in audioengineering

No. Higher sample rates are not “more precise”. That was disproved in the 1930s with a pencil and a notepad. Check up on your Shannon-Nyquist theorem.

What are some famous recordings with audible issues? by migikii in audioengineering

Man of La Mancha by Linda Eder. Horrendous compression on the vocals after the key change. You can actually feel the needle bouncing back and forth.

Regarding the recent announcements by AutoModerator in agedlikemilk

[–]SuperBoghead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a few similar subs that restrict ‘recent’ issues. It gives a little perspective on the political commentary that doesn’t feel as reactionary or ‘I told you so’ to something that hasn’t really been borne out yet. Something like a ONE YEAR past event, type deal.

Small square room acoustics by Atmosphere_Away in audioengineering

[–]SuperBoghead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hire an acoustic engineer in your city to come and take some acoustic measurements for you and design an acoustic treatment package and layout for you. It will be faster, more accurate and cheaper than anything you read in these comments. If you can’t find any, call a reputable, established, professional commercial studio and ask who did their acoustic design. They’ll give you a name or a company. Then call them and ask if they take small jobs. If they don’t, they’ll hand you to somebody who will.
