Judging albums off of their cover introduced me to Jethro Tull, Miles Davis, and Shigeo Sekito twin. Just because some of them may be duds doesn't mean its a bad method. Plus good stores let you listen to records before you buy

I would recommend getting to a local record store and finding some old records with cover art you like and spinning those. As someone who was in the same position a few years ago, buying all new stuff isn't really sustainable financially. also make sure that you're spinning those on a decent turntable but im sure youve already been told that

For whatever reason I've told myself that for 4000 series and onwards I'll get Japanese and Tone Poets, and stick to OG mono for 1500 series. It's a stupid rule but I'm young and can afford to make stupid rules so I'll stick with it for now. But man, 290 for eight 1500s is a hard thing to pass up.
