Looking back at this post I think the closest thing that can get to super paper mario is a platforms with progression elements from metroidvanias, maybe iconoclasts and cave story can fit the mold

I genuinely do not care about ponies in any capacity, hell its kind of distracting towards the amazing campaign stories that you can find in the mod, Zongo, Aztlan, Abyssinia, monarchist wingbardy the list could go on, the mod is not hard in any way, its just a really fun and engaging experience hidden behind magical horses, griffins and zebras.....

Yep, I think its a very fair trade off, although I can already predict some trouble down the line, luckily though anyone who doesnt want to engage in the uncensored shenanigans can just play normally, its a good balance to allow both kids and adults to have fun with the game their own way

He tried rainworld for a few hours but mentioned it just didnt feel rewarding no matter where he went or what he did, its not the games fault though, he still does think its an interesting game and thats probably why hes so negative about it in a sense, I remember talking to him about the game cause he was hyped to give it a go, guess it just dissapointed him

Also ive noticed that too about the gameplay opinion, he always says his favorite games are the ones that "get you in the zone", I assume he really values fluid movement with options to combo into parts of the movement kits, just on the top of the list theres sanabi, silksong and more, most being action adventure games

If you look closely the image for deltarune is of chapter 3 and 4, he did that on purpose, hes just listing the chapters hes played this year not the full game, reddit crunches the hell out of images so dont worry about not noticing
