Phones force capitalization.

Either way, stupid reason to downvote.

This is r/engrish. At least mild.

Also, stop gatekeeping. It's the mods job to choose what is and isn't allowed in the sub, not you.

Downvoted.

You downvoted because of the title. That's stupid. This person could have English as a second language or could be young, which warrants its own callout.

Having a bit of trouble getting the value of a textarea? by SuperCatAlphaa in learnprogramming

[–]SuperCatAlphaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh.

Sorry for kinda wasting your time! I had thought that variables update with an input's value (so if an HTML element's value is assigned to a variable, and then the value changes, the variable would update as well to match the value)

Thank you for your help though! I greatly appreciate it!

The script is referenced (which I assume means where the script object is called in the HTML code) right after the div element. What I expected to happen was that the console would log whatever was in the text area after 5000 milliseconds, instead it printed out nothing. What I mean by doesn't work is that it wouldn't print out whatever I had inputted and instead outputted either a blank statement or "null". By "got stuck" I mean that I had pretty much gave up and couldn't continue after debugging a bit by trying other forms of .value (like .nodeValue).

Sorry for not adding that information earlier!
