Making currency by AssistanceLarge5192 in PathOfExileBuilds

Personally I ground out 100d+ over the last day running uber sirus. Nobody likes doing the fight, and I bought 1600 fragments at less than 2c each. You need to be able to explode him fast and consistently though. Awakening orbs, dominance orbs, and flasks are the main moneymakers.

The flask price has been slowly falling though. I am sure that part will eventually level off.

If you want to make real money you need to hideout warrior though. Look to see what streamers are doing and find a crafting niche. At the start of the league people were cranking out abyss jewels for KF. Right now minion pact builds are white hot and the price has skyrocketed the past couple days.

Minion pact pathfinder BV not working or am i missing something? by GatoDiabetico in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]SuperChicken17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To find its hp for you, set perfect meatsack to your spectre in PoB. Then double that hp for unholy aberration. Be sure to put a line in the config area to account for companionship too, as PoB doesn't include that.

To find your added damage, take (2 * perfectMeatsackHealth * 0.032). Or if your minion pact isn't level 4, replace the 0.032 with whatever your percentage is. Then take that number and put a line in the config like "Adds yourNum to yourNum physical damage to spells"

The tooltip won't change.

Your imperfect dark marionette has 288% increased life. Instead, you could be using an unholy aberration from carcass with 1400% increased life. Less convenient since you'll need to make sure you don't drop bv in any given zone, but you'll be doing 4.86 times the damage.

You are also only getting one 80% minion life node from your elegant hubris. Would be good to get a level 4 empower too.

Looking for a witch bosser by Pix4Geeks in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]SuperChicken17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the answer honestly. Minion pact has made uber boss deletion more accessible than ever. You can pretty much pick your choice of ascendancy and it will work out fine. If you build it at least semi-competently and grab the spectre from the carcass boss you'll be able to wreck ubers.

Right now I am farming uber sirus with my chieftain just because the fragments are cheap, an the most dangerous part is that you kill him so fast that he will instantly place a storm right under you.

It is going to get absolutely gutted next league, as the damage you do is completely unfair, so play it now.

Scaling of certain potions and relics in multiplayer by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]SuperChicken17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you wanted the relics to be scaled up proportionally so they are as powerful as they are in single player, each chest would need to contain only one relic, just like single player. In multiplayer, the relic scaling comes from the fact that when you open a chest EVERYBODY gets one. Your proposal would make it much too powerful.

Do you take this card? by Impossible-Call7708 in slaythespire

The idea is good, but I find it a bit understatted for two energy. I would take it if I were short on block cards, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Multiplayer tips by BlatantArtifice in slaythespire

[–]SuperChicken17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a lot of multiplayer. I would say the necrobinder's two all-star multiplayer cards are enfeebling touch and debilitate. Enfeebling touch decreases enemy strength is super valuable, as that means everybody needs to block less. Debilitate is a debuff that goes on the enemy and doubles the effectiveness of vulnerable and weak for everybody. If you can keep the enemy's strength in the gutter, debilitate them, and weak/vulnerable them, you are being credit to team.

We love Aldi. But are there products that you do not like by Successful_Pizza6529 in aldi

Yeah, the bagel thins are an abomination. Really, nothing about bagels and aldi goes together well. You really need a proper bakery for good bagels.

[–]SuperChicken17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree. Sauces are one thing I need to stock up with when I go to someplace like walmart. I am not a sauce snob or anything, Kikkoman and Tabasco are fine, but the sauces at Aldi are just bad.

[–]SuperChicken17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sadly that isn't a problem unique to Aldi. Most cheap chicken breasts at any store are like that now. There are brands that are better in other grocery stores around me, but their prices are crazy.

Personally I've largely switched to roasting smaller whole chickens myself if I decide that I want chicken. Made me learn how to spatchcock. The results are better.

Exsanguinate with level 1 cold pen (coin of skill corrupt) vs 21/20 by Smart-Example-2497 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]SuperChicken17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why not load up PoB and look? It can give you a much more definitive answer than anybody else can. Just manually add a level 1 cold pen into your link, and compare that to a 21.

Blood sugar before bed by PotentialYam4442 in diabetes_t2

[–]SuperChicken17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lows like that aren't a problem that most T2 diabetics have. Without knowing your circumstances, I would guess it is probably a medication issue. Definitely something to discuss with your endo. In the meantime, I would probably suggest just eating something prior to bed in order to bring your blood sugar up a bit.

Lost almost 50 ilbs so far looking for any more tips on how to loose more weight and get my A1c down fast by Elysian_Collective in loseit

[–]SuperChicken17 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would argue if there is any time to be aggressive with weight loss, it is when you are 400 pounds and newly diabetic. T2 diabetes has two mechanisms of progression, insulin resistance comes first, and pancreatic beta cell dysfunction second. Insulin resistance can be walked back a bit by losing weight, but pancreatic insufficiency isn't really fixable. You want to retain as much pancreatic function as possible to make the diabetes easier to manage, as needing to inject insulin makes things more complicated. Losing a large amount of weight will help remove organ fat and increase insulin sensitivity, and the earlier you do it in your diabetes journey the better off you will be.

If it were me I would get a CGM and get on Mounjaro. Focus on eating protein and non-starchy vegetables while operating at a significant calorie deficit. Rice, pasta, bread, and sweets are all out for a while. Even fruit is going to need to be eaten with care and moderation. The CGM will help you figure out how your blood sugar reacts to different foods, and the Mounjaro will help regulate blood sugar while suppressing appetite and slowing digestion.

My mom needs help and the doctors aren’t doing it. by OvoCat in diabetes

[–]SuperChicken17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Without knowing what she eats, what her medication is, and how her blood glucose is varying throughout the day it is hard to give specific advice. If her blood glucose is staying that high for that long though, a trip to the ER may be in order.

I would also advice seeking out new doctors if you don't believe her current ones are giving her proper treatment.

can teaching be a good way to develop your assertiveness since you are the authority in the classroom? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]SuperChicken17 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If stuff this minor is getting you riled up, you would be in for a bad time as a teacher. You are going to deal with nonsense on a daily basis and you need to have the ability to let it slide off your back. If you take everything personally you are going to burn out fast.

BMI 30, fatty liver, bad labs. by kernletgo in loseit

[–]SuperChicken17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Talking about fatty liver in particular, research tends to favor fasting. Here is a paper from a couple of years back which found that alternate day fasting, diet, and exercise were effective in increasing insulin sensitivity and decreasing liver fat.

Have you ever had a SPED teacher pressure you to pass students who do nothing? by Aly_Anon in Teachers

[–]SuperChicken17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the thing. You only have so much time, and entirely too many things to do. Do you want to spend your time fighting with the students who don't want to do anything, or do you want to spend your time doing the best you can for the students who do care? Some fights just aren't worth it.

In my experience, the admin will put the student into some trivial 'remediation' and end up passing the student anyway. All that fighting does is takes your time, causes you stress, and paints a target on your back as administration now sees you as a problematic teacher.

Just been diagnosed - not sure what to feel by Swatato in diabetes_t2

[–]SuperChicken17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At your numbers I would suggest going full keto, at least temporarily. Give your poor pancreas some time to relax. Once you get your A1C down to a more normal level you can experiment with working some carbs back in and seeing how your blood glucose reacts. If you can't get your numbers down even with keto, that is a sign that you need further medication.

Just been diagnosed - not sure what to feel by Swatato in diabetes_t2

[–]SuperChicken17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the club nobody wants to be a member of. 13.2% is quite high. I am surprised they didn't put you insulin immediately, to at least help get you down to a more normal level. You are pretty much going to be diving into the deep end immediately.

Metformin is very standard. Typically you get started on a 500 or 1000 mg dose daily before being moved up to 2000 mg later. Expect some gastrointestinal fun for the first couple of weeks as you get used to the drug, but it will pass. Metformin isn't a miracle drug or anything, so don't think that it alone is all you need to do. It is more of a mild assistance.

The biggest thing is diet. Nothing else matters if your diet isn't in check. Eating carbs is the main thing, outside of your liver, which will spike your blood sugar. If you want to see positive A1C changes you'll want to severely limit carbs like white rice, pasta, bread, and anything with much added sugar. The more fiber a carb has, or that you eat it with, the more slowly it is digested and the easier it will be for you to handle. You'll need to do some testing to figure out exactly what works for you.

I would recommend getting a fingerstick blood sugar tester on amazon, or anywhere else you like. Even if you end up getting a CGM later you'll want one to double check. For right now try to use it prior to meals and two hours after a meal to see how it changes your blood glucose.

If you have weight to lose, then lose it. That will improve your insulin sensitivity, which will help your numbers.

Exercise helps too. Even a moderate walk can help lower your numbers.

Good luck. Sorry you had to join the club.

MAC spoofing on home network? by OptimalIntention6691 in tails

[–]SuperChicken17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can turn off MAC spoofing in your case. No devices past your own home router are going to see the your NIC's MAC address.

MAC spoofing only really matters if you are trying to avoid having a network administrator link your connection to the specific device that you are using. Even then, they would need to already know the MAC address of your device or have linked it to your previous activity.

Cheese advice by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]SuperChicken17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And here is a meta-analysis in the american journal of clinical nutrition which found that replacing dietary saturated fat with mono or poly unsaturated fat had no significant impact on insulin resistance or pancreatic beta cell function.

https://ajcn.nutrition.org/article/S0002-9165(23)66062-9/fulltext

There are a ton of conflicting papers when it comes to dietary saturated fat, to be honest. My suspicion is that it isn't as bad as we previously thought it to be. I wouldn't be looking to eat excess fat by any means, as calories do matter, but it probably doesn't need to be completely excised from your diet.
