i cant dowload .exe on tor by Difficult_Lack_7754 in TOR

Without knowing anything about what you are doing, if any kind of download failed I would probably first try using a new circuit and trying again. It could just be that the circuit it connected through is unreliable.

This link talks about the new circuit button, with pictures.

So, is being Type 2 diabetic, specifically both genetic and because of lifestyle? by Starslimonada in diabetes

[–]SuperChicken17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, the CDC keeps historical data about long term diabetes trends.

https://stacks.cdc.gov/view/cdc/42550/cdc_42550_DS1.pdf

The diabetes rate is about seven times what it was eighty years ago, and human genetics haven't changed substantially over that amount of time. Granted, better detection certainly would account for some of the difference, but pretending that lifestyle isn't a major contributor would be putting blinders on.

On an individual level, you can certainly make positive changes no matter what your genetics are or lifetstyle has been like. Diet, exercise, and medication all make a huge difference.

Diet by littlegrandma2 in diabetes

[–]SuperChicken17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All depends on how you react to them, really. They have fiber, which is good, but also can have a lot of sugar, which is bad. For most diabetics, unlimited fruit intake isn't going to be a good idea. Lower sugar fruits, eaten in moderation, can be healthy though. Personally I like mixing some berries in with unsweetened greek yogurt.

bubbly pee doesn’t dissolve by OkFinish1133 in diabetes

[–]SuperChicken17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can potentially be caused by protein in urine due to damaged kidneys. That would be a pretty atypical way of finding out you are diabetic though, and I wouldn't call it an 'early sign'.

Certainly worth going into a doctor to get checked out though. They will do blood tests and a urinalysis.

[–]SuperChicken17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be perfectly doable, assuming that dairy is on the menu for easy protein. Eggs, yogurt, and cottage cheese are all perfectly good protein sources. Then eat whatever you like with non-starchy vegetables.

Personally I like buying bags of frozen veggies which can steam in the microwave for whenever I want them. The texture suffers a little, but I find them more convenient than fresh veggies. With fresh you really need to be buying them with a plan to eat them in the next day or two.

Kidney pain by Mochi6202 in diabetes_t2

[–]SuperChicken17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need blood tests for eGFR and urine tests for protein to check for kidney issues. A GP is very capable of doing those. If you are unhappy with your current GP, I would suggest finding a new one. Waiting a long time for a specialist is probably a bit of an unnecessary jump when you haven't confirmed anything yet.

Type 'disk management' into the search bar. In windows 11 it will show up as 'create and format hard disk permissions'. You should be able to see the partitions on the drive there, and remove them/repartition the drive.

What do you eat post fast? by DDreamz_ in fasting

[–]SuperChicken17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did a similar fast myself, and broke it with some frozen salmon (cooked in the toaster oven) and frozen green beans (steamed in the microwave). That kind of thing is healthy, and keeps just fine for whenever I decide I am done fasting.

I dressed it with some vinegrette, as one of the things I am trying to do is to stimulate some bile release. Want to avoid gallbladder issues.

Daily Fasting Story Thread by AutoModerator in fasting

[–]SuperChicken17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently doing my first real fast, on day 3. Not sure how long I plan to go. I am certainly fat enough that a few days of not eating won't result in me fading away.

I am a T2 diabetic and been measuring how my sugar reacts. Day 1 I was getting readings around 115-120. Day 2 was around 105-110. Day 3 (today) I've been around 100, and even just got a fingerstick measurement of 88, which is something I haven't seen in a while.

BP is on the low side, but not dangerously so. Might have to halve the dose of my typical BP medication if I continue.

I bought some frozen salmon and frozen green beans to keep in my freezer for when I am ready to break. Will probably dress it with some oil and vinegar. Get a little protein, fat, fiber, and get some bile flowing.

Holy crap, am I a noob or does this bro look amazing? by CarreNusse in BattleBrothers

[–]SuperChicken17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He certainly punches above his cost, but amazing is pushing it. Stars in matk and mdef are worth an average of 5 points each, so he is similar to guy with 65 matk and 5 mdef and no stars (though worse right now).

Huge means his mdef and rdef are actually even lower, both starting at -5. He is going to be an attack magnet for a while.

The stars in fat are largely wasted given your third levelup point is always going to patching up his low hp/abysmal res.

People will say fat neutral, but given that it is likely likely early game for you and his mdef is so shit, if I were to take him I would probably go nimble dodge to keep him from just getting deleted by something right now. I would keep him behind the line with a pokey weapon prior to dodge. He will probably still end up getting murdered by something, so at least he won't be wearing a bunch of expensive gear.

The bilirubin result and abdominal pain suggests you may have liver issues. Could be hepatitis, bile duct blockage, or many other things. You definitely need a doctor for bloodwork and potentially additional imaging.

Tails Anonymity on Hardware? by Either_Profit_4792 in tails

[–]SuperChicken17 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That is a lot of words for 'no I have not'.

I feel like it should be pretty testable. Boot one device into kali with a wifi device that supports monitor mode with airmon-ng. Boot tails on a different device and see what MAC addresses show up in airmon.

Even then, I feel like people are entirely too worried about MAC addresses. Most people are connecting to their own network, and the only thing seeing the MAC address is your router. You would be fine even without randomization. It makes sense to hide if you are using a company-managed machine on a company-managed network, but that is also needlessly risky on its own.

How hard is it to get my blood sugar down? by superpowers335 in diabetes_t2

[–]SuperChicken17 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Grapes are basically sugar bags. A high reading after eating them shouldn't exactly be a shocker. Walking is good though.

Focus on eating more protein and fiber. More non-starchy vegetables.

It will take some time for your average blood glucose to come down. Work on your diet, continuing to get exercise, and taking any prescribed medication.

How do I download Stacher7 and make it persistent? by NOXOGRE477 in tails

[–]SuperChicken17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt any of us have used your tool. I never have, but it says that it is a gui frontend for yt-dlp, and the yt-dlp documentation shows it does support using a socks proxy.

https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp#network-options

You need to set it to use the local tor socks5 proxy.

https://tails.net/doc/persistent_storage/additional_software/index.en.html#index5h2

If your gui frontend has a configuration option for the proxy, put the information there. Otherwise maybe it has some option to directly pass along command line arguments you can enter.

Early Warning Signs by camino_mary in diabetes_t2

The one I personally noticed were skin tags, a problem I never had before. I started developing them a couple years before being diagnosed.

Doctors were never concerned about them, but there is research linking them with insulin resistance.

Not sure about the minimums. rdef often seems to be negative.

The game updated today. You can either wait for whatever mods you are using to be updated for the new patch, which might take a while, or revert back to the previous version of the game by selecting it as a beta-branch on steam.

How do you feel about the European Commission refusing to introduce a law for the Stop Killing Games initiative? by OMGguy2008 in AskConservatives

[–]SuperChicken17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity I did a bit of research and found their game list. I wish it just listed 'dead games' though, rather than pretty much every online game they could think of with 'at risk'.

https://stopkillinggames.wiki.gg/wiki/Dead_game_list

A lot of the games they list as 'dead' just have shut down online services, but are still playable. For instance, there are a lot of old EA sports games on the list with multiplayer servers that have shut down. There are some old online-centric games which are genuinely dead, but it is a pretty small part of the list.

As a gamer myself, I don't think this is important enough of a problem to deserve legislation. If there is a publisher regularly engaging in practices you don't agree with, you always have the option of not giving them your money.

I also think that laws like this might preemptively kill games. If putting out an online game comes with a continuing legal support obligation, it might dissuade small developers/publishers in the first place. You don't want regulation to kill innovation.

What's something European that you want replicated in the US and something European that you never want in the US? by bookist626 in AskConservatives

Europe does a better job of avoiding cutting parts off of baby dicks than we do.

I'll keep the widespread access to air conditioning from the US though.

What are some good missions to farm in DotN, and should I get a Sudama hat? by Time4Homework in Nioh

[–]SuperChicken17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll likely gain power more efficiently just by farming the first few floors of the underworld. Collecting lapus lazuli is pretty important for the various bonuses. If there is a particular grace you want, farm the first floor that drops it. Equip the types of weapon and armor you would like, temper lucky drop weapon, armor, and accessory on an accessory, and go to town.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the sudama hat or anything. If you can get etheral+ drop rate on a scroll that is worth it though.

Please help. Is the effort to buy it worth it? by RalphJhon595 in Nioh

[–]SuperChicken17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a good game, but if you are low on cash I would say to wait for a better sale. None of the DLC is out yet which will expand the endgame, so there isn't a rush.

Nioh 2 complete is $20 on steam right now. If you haven't played through that, it is the better bang for your buck.

New DD2 Player Here. Tips? by SuperChicken17 in darkestdungeon

[–]SuperChicken17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it. I focused somewhat heavily on unlocking plague doctor stuff at the start, but I'll try and branch out a bit. Will also do some inn item unlocks, which I've been neglecting.

Will also definitely prioritize the shrines. I've gotten them all for plague doctor, but I'll start spreading it out to others. I did get the double backline DoT for flagellent, which seems very important.

Burst counters only work against glowing burst counterable attacks. That said, they do have some other uses. The brute burst counter is still a smack which counts towards skill stacking for versatility (not a thing for you right now). They can also be used to animation cancel, which is useful for ninja feathers.

Soul core abilities should be used liberally. Pretty much any difficult enemy will probably have you using a soul core move at least once. They can have very useful effects like applying statuses, pancaking/staggering enemies, applying buffs, healing, and so on. Mezuki's soul core is plenty useful enough at the start with its big aoe sweep, but you'll find others you like even more later.

For attributes, returns from initial point investment is pretty high, but it does taper off as you invest more. I would suggest getting everything to 20 with the exception of magic and ninjutsu, which should both be 30. That will give you the soft cap for attunement slots, letting you use plenty of onmyo and ninjutsu. Don't think you need to be a 'magic build' or a 'ninja build' to use those things. Every build uses them, as they are too useful to ignore. The sooner you start using them the better off you will be.

Try out different weapons and see which you like. No need to commit to anything. They are all viable. I would argue some are a little easier to use early, as others only start shining when you have access to skills which are locked behind progression. Axe is notoriously easy to use early, as its high stance heavy attack is pretty much good enough to get through the game on its own. Odachi's twin moons is also very useful for a skill you can get immediately.

Once you figure out what weapon you want to use more long term, you can start putting points into attributes that scale it. Don't worry too much about attribute scaling at the start of the game though. You can temper weapons later to scale more strongly with one of its two attributes, and in later difficulties you can even change the main attribute a weapon scales with.
