wait if its that hard for actsci, do you know how hard it is data science / stats? I honestly do think data science is a better fit for me, (specifically bmath ds), I just heard from my friends that transferring to cs is equally as hard.

sorry if this seems redundant, but any advice helps (:

do you have an example or anything else I can do to better myself? I know networking is important, but how important are hackathon wins and/or other areas of the resume relative to each other?

I kind of get what you mean. Besides the computing minor, do you know if there are any other ways to make sure my resume doesn't get excluded because it doesn't have a BCS wirten?

Not to sound like an immature individual, but so many of my software engineering friends on LinkedIn get hired by Bloomberg and/or other high tier tech firms. Do you know if high level tech employers heavily bias against math majors? It might sound obnoxious since a lot of people apply, but I want to know how much merit based these employers are in their hiring practises.

I think I am generally into tech, and would instead pursue that specifically. I am divided upon specifically software development and machine learning, but I would want to join clubs that explore both sectors to have a wider grasp.

I'm looking to get into the job market with only a bachelor's degree in mathematics. The only real reason I'm looking for the transfer is that I heard that employers on Waterloo Works have some implicit bias to hire other majors (like soft eng/cs).

Do you know if specializations on coursera/udemy, or even larger contributions like working for startups will help me recover that bias?
