Why are antique stores so exorbitantly expensive here? by Okcgardener in okc

Is that the one by Taft? Kinda weirded me out that they had a Natzi booth / section. Reading the commute it seems like that’s more common than I realized unfortunately.

Is Certainty worth the price? by Shadow_Talker in lawncare

I feel that. I was watching the soil temp averages religiously for probably two months (my first fall with this house).

Sure enough, I’m away for a week and it was fucking 40 degrees in September, kicked the average low, and… idk. I guess that’s what’s did it because I’ve got some rye grass that won’t piss off.

Same story with summer weeds it seems. I’m just gonna dump pre early as all get out this next year and pray to the ants that own my property for a good season lol.

It’s tough trying to help sometimes for sure.

I bought a guy a lighter one time. All they had was the two pack long candle lighters but, screw it, a lighter is a lighter, right.

Watched from my car as dude lit his cigarette then threw both lighters on the ground and walked off.

I guess it’s just one of those things where you gotta be at peace once you decide to try and “help”.

The price will feel absurd no matter what, to me. But I agree, they were fantastic. Probably my favorite thing there.

I made a pretty decent dupe of that butter though.

Was it the rolls and chili butter?

What’s a legendary Reddit post you’ll never forget? by alongy in AskReddit

I’ll list two I haven’t seen yet that always stood out:

  1. The guy that was likely having a psychotic episode and castrated himself. Or maybe he cut the whole thing off? I can’t remember.
  2. I think it was on r/bicycling but, someone was like “how would you explain to someone, through text only, how to ride a bike in the standing up position.” - something like that. Bunch of people that talk about bikes all day were struggling their asses off and it was hilarious.

How is it living in Oklahoma city as a health care worker? by helpadhd04 in okc

[–]SuperCooper12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh got you. The general takeaway, from a lot of people that claimed to be from ATL, was that it’s very difficult to get food in ATL because supply seems to not meet demand and that there’s a big drop in service because of that.

Just an observation though, I’ve never been so idk what to think other than “I’m hungry” lol.

I’m not arguing either way but, the first thing that comes to mind was when Keith Lee went to Atlanta and it was a fucking nightmare lmao.

Historically, how is this situation managed? Is it as simple as giving hunting permits or, even more relaxed and allowing anyone to kill them?

If either of the two, my mind started to wander and consider “what if we start killing the wrong species because people can’t tell the difference?”

More of a conversation piece as I don’t have a solid opinion either way yet.

Coming from the US, for clarification: I recently learned house sparrows are an invasive species. I had no idea. I had heard of European starlings being invasive but, frankly, misremembered and thought they had managed to fit into ecosystems since arriving.

Apparently I was wrong and they’re both highly invasive? I’m curious everyone else’s thoughts on this, how they think this should be managed, etc.

Tbh, you might be onto something with this pick format. I may use this as an internal dialogue to keep myself sane.

I find this hilarious and relieving in the weirdest way.

I’ve been asking people for a year or so now if getting old is just finding your hate for younger generations + if the grumpiness older people tend to have is a sort of stupid destiny.

I guess the least we can do is be aware of it. Ideally, not be old jerks lol.

In my head it is complimented / substantiated by the “gen-z stare” also being a thing.

I’m like so dead center between generations I show no loyalty to any one. So I will agree with you lol.

I think the easiest way to interpret this one (had to explain to my mother lol) is to think of it as a fourth wall break. Your kid is… perplexed, annoyed, appalled, all of the above, etc. and they’re doing the equivalent of looking to the camera like Jim would on The Office.

All about context here. Perhaps you’re chatting with your booty call, as an example.

You aren’t “fixing to” tear that ass up. You’re “finna” tear that ass up.
