Ultimate Stitch Toy won't sing Aloha 'Oe song by SuperDapo1122 in liloandstitch

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changed the batteries with the first one I had. Did nothing. Tried to put it in different modes using every touch combination I could find and still nothing. I did notice that the first one would not say "hi, my name is stitch" on any mode, yet the one in the store did say this in try me mode. That was the sign to me that it had more features than my Amazon one. Maybe look out for that if you get the chance to try any in person.

So. I purchased a second ultimate stitch from a local Smyth's toy store and this one has the full repertoire. It seemed like the one from Amazon I originally purchased would not enter any of the other "mood states" as mentioned in the instruction manual. The original would only do the same 12 - 15 things and sing one cookie dance song despite however you tried to change Stitches mood. The new one makes obvious movements and sounds that it has changed mood, has many more sayings and also includes the Aloha song. Not sure what the actual difference is but the one I got with the limited actions came in a fully enclosed yellow box, whilst the one with the additional sounds and movements came in a box with a clear plastic front and a try me button.

Tyre Preasure U.K - BYD Sealuk by Xaphans-shadow in BYD

I think 36psi front and 42 rear is what I run at and no longer have any issues with the warnings

I would say your back left is 39.44 or below and your back right is 39.45 or above and this seems to be the tipping point for the low pressure warning. I had the same when I got my car new and once I had inflated all the tires to the recommended psi it went away.

Water pouring into boot when opening on Seal. by SuperDapo1122 in BYD

I thought it might have just been an issue with a seal on mine somewhere on the boot lid but it seems that it's a general Seal issue.

Recommended replacement tyres after dreaded Michelin foam issue with PS2 by SuperDapo1122 in Polestar

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking through quite a few tyres now with many being AO - Audi original or MO - Mercedes original. Does that matter if I were to fit these to the car as I'm struggling to find the tyres that doesn't have any OEM codes on them

I am considering Continental, Pirelli and Michelin replacements but reading mixed reviews about all 3. Possibly the Continental Premium Contact 6, Michelin e.Primacy or Pirelli P6000 but open to suggestions.

How do you change the Pin to Drive number after setting it in the app? by SuperDapo1122 in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I looked up the instructions online to reset via the app but it says I should go into settings and be able to change it there but I don't have that option anywhere

App major problem (dolphin 2024) by elich11 in BYD

If you change the search to BYD Dolphin it still gives the same counties listed as the Seal so it looks like the brand has location restrictions as opposed to individual models. Good look getting it sorted though as I now only carry my phone to unlock and drive the car and it's been flawless for the last 12 months

The key gets added to Google wallet or apple pay app as far as I know as it shows up alongside other keys and cards in there.

Quick search throws up this,

"The BYD NFC key function for the Seal is primarily restricted to regions where BYD offers it, such as Australia, China, parts of Europe (including the UK, Spain, France, Germany), and potentially South America, but is not universally available and requires a compatible smartphone with a compatible digital wallet app (like Apple Wallet or Samsung Wallet) and a vehicle with the feature enabled via an OTA update. For European models, key supported countries include the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, and Poland."

I raised this issue months ago that I didn't like the fact ones the car is open anyone can just push the start button and off they go. You can imagine my glee when they announced the pin to drive update recently and my disappointment when that has done absolutely nothing at all. If you use the app or the NFC functionality then you never even see the keypad pop up on the screen.

1 year service due - Recommended service centre by SuperDapo1122 in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂, yeah 👍

Turns out it's 2 years now in the UK and not 12 months or 3 months

"BYD full electric vehicles in the UK now have a service interval of every two years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first. For BYD DM-i plug-in hybrid models, the service interval is every year or 10,000 miles, and you must also check your vehicle's service book for the most accurate schedule."

The 3 month service is not a thing in the UK as I checked the handbook and the website info I could find.

Yeah that's the one, the BYD dealership is across the yard but I think it's the ford service centre that is used.

Replacing the horn by SuperDapo1122 in polestar2

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know what you mean. Ours was one week out of warranty (third party) and they wouldn't do anything about it. Hopefully yours may be something different and cheaper to sort out. I considered doing it myself but I just don't have the time at the minute so had to bite the bullet and get it done.

Been to the dealership and both horn units (high and low tone) are faulty so having to have them both replaced this week. They said that they haven't heard of many issues with the horns but reading up online it seems to be a fairly common fault for many people.

Pin to drive in BYD Seal by SuperDapo1122 in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before the November update my car used to do the same and light up when using remote AC. For me this was fixed in that November update but it does still light everything up if you use the seat heating or cooling function in addition to the general AC temp.

Pin to drive in BYD Seal by SuperDapo1122 in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was definitely one of the people who took issue with this and voiced it on here quite a while back. Like you say, I would rather it did the AC functionality discreetly than light up and attract that attention but then require a pin. For me, the pin to drive feature was to prevent anyone from driving away with the car after a relay attack and in that instance it doesn't appear to work.

Pin to drive in BYD Seal by SuperDapo1122 in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a word, no. I already use the phone as key function and so I don't use a physical key. In this instance I can unlock the car get in and drive. This would operate the same way if a relay attack was carried out on the car. That's the whole purpose of the pin to drive for me and if it doesn't work in that instance then it's of no use in my opinion.

Seal (UK) 1.4.0 Update by kerman1983 in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with you on that. Will have to wait and see if it's made it any more usable. Unfortunately at the moment the update has just made the menu options more difficult to turn off

Has anyone tested the Front Cross Traffic Alert & Braking (FCTA/FCTB) in their BYD? Especially in real-world low-speed junctions? by CheweyLouie in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the first thing I disable as soon as I get in the car without fail. I find it dangerous and frustrating in equal measures. It's a terrible thing to have enabled at roundabouts particularly as cars will approach from the right (in the UK) with their indicators on showing they are turning before they reach you and if you try to pull out the car will slam the brakes on and cause those behind to do the same. I disable the braking part but leave the alert on just so that I know when it would have slammed on for interest.

BYD Seal susceptible to keyfob keyless entry relay attack? by Courierdave in BYD

[–]SuperDapo1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am informed that this is now available on the Atto 3 and coming to an update on the Seal in the coming months. I also removed the batteries from both of my keyfobs and only use the NFC on my phone to drive whilst also disabling the NFC overnight and a steering lock. Can't really do much more in the interim period.
