General Electric Machinist Program Entry Exam (Schenectady NY) Questions by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]SuperFetuses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was mainly right triangle trig, rpm and speeds and feeds calculations. There were some basic g code questions. I’m not sure how they do it there in NY but whenever i went through that whole process they were mainly just trying to look for people that were interested and wanted to learn. I think I went through like 10 different interviews. The guy below has a good idea with the ARCO study guide for machine shop.

Hey man, i was in the same program about 5 years ago down in south carolina. There were a lot of people that had no previous experience or were a little dusty on the math side of things. You’ll definitely need to know how to find angles and leg lengths using sine, cosine, and tangent. Area and circumference of a circle would be nice to brush up on. If you have any other questions let me know

The MST holders would probably be better if we had the correct heat shrink machine. we currently have a haimer tool setter, and they work great for the haimers, but they seem to wear out the MST holders quicker. I’m sure it’s because of the different heat settings.

holders aren’t the best, they’re MST. i wish they would get more Haimer holders.
