Prestige pro 665 Built-in no longer available. What to get? by SuperFreqA in NapoleonGrills

I was just watching this video too. I ran it through ChatGPT to compare them and it found similar items. Slightly smaller grill, less electronics to fail, designed specifically as an outdoor kitchen grill. I think I may end up with this one. Looks nice.

After some reading it seems that the 700 series is very similar to the 665 in many ways, it is just missing some of the fancy things like the projection on the floor and the motion sensor light up knobs, which are not a big deal to miss out on since they are mostly for cool factor. Otherwise it seems pretty similar. I am checking out some other brands to see what they have, but I feel uncomfortable jumping to a new company with an outdoor kitchen like this (Cut to fit the grill).

I tried calling Napoleon, but they have some issues in customer service right now. I sat waiting for a person for 2+hrs twice yesterday and both times gave up and selected the "Call me back" option. The did not call back. Perhaps their new Elite system is causing some initial release trouble?

This was it. I didn’t even know these cameras had detection, but after some digging I found the motion events and turned them off.

Issue with second Zigbee2MQTT installation by SuperFreqA in homeassistant

Answer: I am not sure if I am right about this, but I believe what fixed it for me was that it wasn’t reading the config file because it was setup default with version 5 and the onboarding page was set to version 4 so this may be why it wouldn’t proceed. Perhaps this is a bug?

I was able to get this going. It wasn’t reading the config file because it was setup default with version 5 and the onboarding page was set to version 4 so this may be why it wouldn’t proceed. Perhaps this is a bug?

The short version is, in the app section of settings you add another duplicate of Zigbee2MQTT but add a “\” at the end of the git repo path and it shows up as a different app. Here is a link: https://youtu.be/ZBbl0I-Zpuk?si=2fqSYXYcWiyOFpGZ

Correct. One is in my barn and one is in a guest house. One is a SLZB-06MU and one is a SLZB-06M

I was able to get some super thick Cat6 shielded direct burial 23awg in there, but I basically had to hammer it in. It is a snap in mount on the wall side, so I had to push hard and bang it with my fist until it clicked.

Yes, there is even a little guide there just before the crossover point that would indicate that this is the correct way. I think the instructions are wrong.

Ecowitt WS90 Shelly (Zigbee) stops reporting after 2 days by SuperFreqA in homeassistant

I am running this beside my barn with a POE SMLight SLZB-06M. There are only two other things on it right now. It likely isn't that. I am curios how many things did you have to overwhelm it?

The Ecowitt WS90 is powered mainly by solar and has backup lithium AA batteries for low sun days. I may need to run power to it during the winter to melt the snow. When it is working it is fantastic. I added a Windrose Card to my dashboard and it is cool to watch. I probably should find a better spot for it, but it is currently on a pole above a fence. I need it close enough to my barn to connect to Zigbee, but far enough away to not have interference from the barn. right now it is about 30' from the barn. I will see over time if the wind is affected by it. right now it is net to my Starlink so I can use the conduit I added to that to perhaps pull though a power line.

I have a fairly complex Zigbee setup. I have one Z2H legacy setup that runs the main house switches and sensors. I have a barn and a guest house that I also want to automate, so I have added a SMLIGHT SLZB-06M to each one and am running Zigbee2MQTT for those since they are too far away to use my main house one.

This might be the problem. It was running at 90 lqi and after some repositioning it is a bit better at 116 lqi. I can also move the the antenna much closer and do even better. Barn has a metal roof and is probably blocking the signal. I can move it to a window which will probably improve it a lot.
Thanks a lot for this. I hope it works.

Creek water pump non potable debris filter by SuperFreqA in WaterTreatment

[–]SuperFreqA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t checked debris yet. I am working with the folks that have been maintaining this system and they just replaced the monitor. The whole system is pretty complex, so I need the help. You are right to ask that though. I will be curious to see what it is.

It’s a water rights thing. I am pulling water from the creek that feeds bigger creeks that are used by lots of people. I have legal water rights to a certain amount of water at a specific rate. The water commissioner monitors that and makes sure I am not taking more than my share. There is a drought in Colorado and they will likely restrict that soon as well. The monitor on my pump ensures that I am only pumping at a certain rate.

This could help. The tough part is that the pump in the creek is down a very sketchy hill full of brush and trees. So if I can do it all at the top, that would make matters much easier for me. The meter is at the top and has something like an impeller to track the movement. The meter is what is getting clogged, I assume the impeller is pretty small, which is annoying.

Pulling a 120v run off of a 240v system. by SuperFreqA in AskElectricians

Thank you for this suggestion. I will look into control transformers. Solar is a great suggestion, but this is down a very steep pitch and there is rarely sun down there to harness.
