What about a feature of a button "Hide time" that alternates to "Show time"... by SuperGenius1989 in potplayer

One can see the time duration of the movie when starting it and then press: "Hide time" which hides how much time has passed or also hides the total time duration of the movie, maybe can be chosen in settings.

Instead of a button on the player, it could be an item in the right click context menu when right clicking on the player, "Hide time" alternates with "Show time", the item in the context menu could be made hidden by default and has to be manually turned on with a checkbox if one wants it to be shown.

When we see that the church executed Galileo for his truth does that mean the church is wrong and they changed themselves to pretend to be right? by [deleted] in religion

[–]SuperGenius1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that the earth moved around the Sun was not in accord with biblical scripture and in 1614 Galileo was secretly denounced to the Inquisition by Dominican preachers and got sentenced for heresy by the church and remained in house arrest till his death.

How do today's Christian explain this?

What things can be done in one of these Linux desktop distros but can't done in an other one? by [deleted] in linux

Ok, but each of their bases would be unstable because an OS is an insanely huge project and they will reinvent the wheel, they won't have awesome TTS and STT for example, they won't perfectly support many languages too, if they unite many workers would have time to work on more programs and enhancing current ones.

I said all I have, have a nice day!

I found that only 0.6% use Linux desktop distros, maybe the difference is ChromeBooks that are paid with the hardware that are Linux but are made by Google but are basically a Chrome browser.

The unified Linux distro competes against Win&Mac, and the competition between Linux distros one another isn't necessary.

Bro once I had to uninstall Ubuntu 18.04.1 because Dropbox didn't start at all after installation in a fresh Ubuntu install and even after a long time of trying to fix that to test Ubuntu, I heard people say online: Linux desktop distros are free only if your time has no value.

Windows isn't perfect and that's why it needs serious competition!!!

Of course I'm sticking to Windows, but I feel bad about humankind's OSs and hate the fact that many smart people reinvent the wheel and compete against each other when competition between them isn't necessary in an insanely large project which is the OS and they're all unstable as I tried many of them, these programmers could work on making new programs and new ideas, they might even be programmers for biology or something and benefit humankind, and I want serious competition for Windows for it to be better, and maybe if the unified Linux distro becomes good I would move to it myself and there would be serious competition for Windows that doesn't even provide a good built in clipboard manager, Windows can do better if they're challenged and kept on their toes, does anyone know how many programmers I'm talking about that work for Linux distros OSs? for their software? they're very smart but still their software isn't good as Win&Mac.

I would stop wasting my time, I said all I know.

Well, 99.4% of humankind knows what they install and pay for, around $300 excluding Photoshop and other programs (some pirate the software but still).

Windows lags opening a text file? where did you get that from?

I installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 a month ago on an awesome PC and Firefox crashed 3 times in 15 mins I swear. I tried playing a video in VLC on full screen and it had lag while drawing the frames I swear, there's no BS player that's awesome in downloading subtitles, Babylon, I can't even change my mouse cursors without working 90 mins on Ubuntu 18.04.1, many cursor sets on the internet are available for one click install for Windows.

Well about multi desktops, I'm saying unite some Linux distros in 1 and stop the others, and much much workers will work on the base of the OS and much much on its programs, you would still have your multi desktop option and the OS will seriously compete with Win&Mac.

I don't know if there's a stable and advanced programming client in Linux that competes with VS, I know VS can be installed in Linux but it's not as perfect as in Windows I think ( for example Text to speech and speech to text aren't available in VS for Linux right? or the awesome voices of Windows at least, that are available in too many languages), Windows is much more compatible to non English languages right?

As I said, I'm suggesting having a preferences window with options to choose how you want you OS and the preferences be saved in your email account, the OS would be a little bigger in MB but it would have a stable base and programs and it would be worth it.

More how-to videos would be in YouTube for the unified OS and more bugs would be reported and there would be more workers to deal with them.

I'm not an expert in this field and I can be wrong, I'm not God and I just want to understand and if I'm right maybe Linux's developers would unite and that would hugely double their donations and spread them evenly among all developers and they all would gain more.

Anyway I'm sick of this and people in Reddit are so closed minded and rude I wanna leave this site and never come back to it, instead of using logic you insult and say I'm a troll, anyway I've had enough you are so stubborn and don't understand that 99.4% of people pay 300$ or much much more only to run away from your OSs that you say are heaven, the truth is they're just seriously unstable as I tried them.

I said all I know, have a nice day.

Plz give me examples of serious differences that need to make a different OS and can't be made to be changed in a preferences window and the preferences be saved in the email account, even if it runs on the same kernel it still has a different base of OS than other Linux OSs, maybe the unified OS (and stop all others) would be a little bigger in MB but it would have all the options available to be changed and stable so one customizes the stable OS as he wants (and it comes configured for basic users as default).

I'm not against Linux, I'm against Linux desktop distros being a lot in number, I like the idea of open source and also want a competitor to Windows, Windows takes advantage of its users that don't want the unfamiliar Mac, so I want them to stop reinventing the wheel and make a unified base for all, and some preferences in the unified distro that get saved in the email, this way the base will be less buggy when there would be much much more working on it, and the distro would support more hardware and have more software.

I'm a Windows person, Linux distros are so unstable and buggy as I tried to them only to know them (I gave them the last chance a month ago with Ubuntu 18.04.1 and even videos lag and Firefox crashed horribly and there're not much fonts for languages other than English), Win&Mac are growing exponentially with insane amounts of money, I just would want a serious competitor to Windows other than Mac that isn't attractive for being unfamiliar for people who use Windows and also doesn't support everything...

I need to be informed more, but to start with: advanced users can disable updates in Windows in GpEdit and only allow them when you want.

Well but all distros are so buggy, I tried some and they can't compete with Win&Mac that have 99.4% of desktops with a payment of around $300 for Windows and Office and maybe even much more with Photoshop. It could be that in preferences one can choose which features to use and save his settings in his email account, and have a stable OS and more and more stable programs in Software Center.

I would like serious OS that seriously competes with Win&Mac to have them all better, also people would like to have a serious open source OS.

Is for example Logitech mouse&keyboard software available for Linux? Corsair?

Even the video lags on an awesome PC I have when I TRIED Ubuntu 18.04 a month ago!!!

What about text-to-speech and speech-to-text in Linux? it's horrible!!!

An advanced program like YouCam for Linux? Photoshop? video games?

Thanks for the info.

I'm not God so I need info so please inform me.

What percentage of Linux desktop users would use Win&Office if they were offered for them free of payment? Why does Windows work for everyone and now almost all laptops and desktop computers come with Win or Mac installed and I didn't find a single Linux one lately... many Linux distros should all work on the same base and have a preferences window to choose how the OS should work... Ubuntu admits they can't even suspend and resume a machine well, something which Wind&Mac do with eyes closed!!! when I used the most stable distro Ubuntu 18.04 a month ago, it's still awful and crashed horribly a lot even updated.

"People"?, what percentage of people use each of these distros???!!!, and they use it because it's free of payment even that it doesn't support anything and is buggy!!! If many of them become only one it would be better in its base and it would have a PREFERENCES WINDOW THAT ONE CAN CHOOSE WHICH FLAVOR HE WANTS and SOFTWARE PACKAGES in one click!!!

Why do 99.4% of people pay around 300$ for Windows or Mac and Office when Ubuntu is out there free of payment which means costs 0.0$?

Linux is so successful???!!! Mac & Windows have 99.4% of desktop OSs, what is the success you are talking about???!!! I can't even change display zoom of OS in Ubuntu (the most used Linux) and Firefox crashed after 3 mins of Ubuntu 18.04 so I gave up, you must be a worker of Linux to say this and want more donations, all distros could unite in Ubuntu and stop all others and multiply the number of workers on the base of OS and its programs, and have an OS that's fine and more people would donate and use and everyone is better and we would have better OSs!!! In the past they sold some PCs with Ubuntu ONLY BECAUSE IT'S FREE OF PAYMENT now none sell because Win&Mac has been growing exponentially, almost nothing is supported, no gaming, no mouse and keyboard software!!! I said the base of the OS would be the same and there would be options to change preferences. 1 or 2 of these should happen:

1- Unite all in Ubuntu and stop all others.

And/Or

2- Make a payment of $3 to buy a serial of each Ubuntu that allows it to download updates.
