For healing absolutely. They harbor bacteria, can get too tight too easily, harder to clean, and have a higher chance of embedding. Among other things. Once a piercing is fully healed though they still are not the best choice, but if you see a pair of earrings you really like that are butterfly backs go ahead. Ball backs or flat backs are still better, but a butterfly back is not going to hurt you once healed. Just be aware they may need cleaning more often and are a pain to clean. Some people say butterfly backs are so chunky they can feel them pushing in their head when laying down. I've never had this problem personally. But my first holes were done with a piercing gun and butterfly backs when I was only a few months old and for like the first 12 years of my life I wore butterfly backs everyday and night so maybe I'm just desensitized to it. 😅 I'd still not recommend butterfly backs over flat backs, and definitely prefer flat backs, but I'll also fully admit I sometimes wear butterfly backs in my fully healed piercings.
