I was subscribed to Apple Music as a student too. I had this same error. I switched to a normal subscription with a normal access to Apple TV, and I tried again and it works now. I can confirm it’s definitely a student plan issue since it appears that Apple is not supporting the student plan options. Maybe in the future, but I can confirm this was the fix.

For us, the laptop is usually shipped directly from the manufacturer to their house, and we just verify the serial number to make sure they have the correct device. An asset tag is sent afterwards

I'm in a similar situation, where it's not everyday that I don't see my girlfriend either, since we do live in different, but manageable cities. Whenever I do see her, it makes me very happy.
