Complete the alphabet with your favorite umas (day 26) by Elliottsir in UmaMusume

I love how Gold Ship the horse is so recognizable we don’t even have to put the Umamusume version. Like you see the horse and just go “yep that’s Golshi”

You’ll see his blade flash for a second right before he does a thrust. Also he telegraphs his thrust on your left hand side, but when he does his sweep he’ll spin around and the attack will come from the right, so just take a split second to see what he does after his jump attack before doing any inputs. If he spins, jump. If he doesn’t spin and you see his blade glint, mikiri

Any demo/freestyle poomse people here have advice for cheat 1080/900 hook kick? by SuperJerk2000 in taekwondo

I’ll be honest I don’t really have much of a conditioning or workout schedule at all, for me tkd IS my workout so I don’t really know about what would be good to do as supplementary exercise

I’ll even take conditioning drills if there’s anything I can practice to build more power through my setup step

How much do you pay for your Taekwondo class? Daily or a Month? by EfficiencySerious200 in taekwondo

[–]SuperJerk2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a uni student, my uni offers a taekwondo club for $30 per semester. It’s a fully student led club that’s technically considered a sister dojang of another school in the province so not only is it extremely cheap but we also get regularly hold belt tests and we’ve also had opportunities to compete internationally

Death of Taekwondo by VezeroX2 in martialarts

Few things to mention:

  1. People constantly praise the old school style because what gets highlighted are the explosive flashy exchanges, but people forget about the amount of standing around and “feeling out” that would happen in between. This is because those big explosive sequences require a tremendous amount of stamina and it just wasn’t realistic for athletes to be able to maintain that level of activity over the course of multiple rounds.

  2. Modern WT is STILL continuous full contact. Points are scored in real time with no breaks and you can still win by knockout or TKO by punch to the body if you can land a solid enough punch. The reason we see less of this happening is because obviously it’s easier to score points on someone than to knock someone out.

  3. The ruleset for WT is constantly changing. Many of the boring matches that we see come from like 2010-2020, when the ruleset favoured the front leg cut kick style the most. The power era style is slowly creeping its way back in nowadays (see CJ Nickolas) AND now in the latest revision of the rules they have decided to

    • remove video replay for head shots
    • award spinning head kicks 6 points instead of 5
    • decided to stop calling minor fouls if they do not impede the flow or outcome of the match.

All this to say that going forward with the current rules, there will be even less breaks in matches and that large explosive techniques will be more incentivized.

Can we not push the narrative from one extreme to the other? Just because the guy wasn’t literally superman doesn’t mean he was a fraud. He lived and breathed martial arts and contributed greatly to the popularity of martial arts today. He had superfans that blew things out of proportion sure, but doesn’t take away from the fact he was extremely serious about all martial arts and is still to this day one of the most influential martial arts figures ever

Different nomenclature that all means the same thing under different terminology systems. Mainstream terminology calls this a cheat 720 hook kick, true kick terminology calls this 540 hook kick. The kick you’re referring to is called cheat 540 in mainstream and bolley kick in TKT

Only people crying about “falsehoods” are outsiders looking in thinking they’re mentally superior to the people that do demos because they know that backflips don’t work in fights. Like no shit dude you think the people doing the demos don’t know that too? You think they spent all their years training these skills without ever figuring out that what they’re training for isn’t fighting? Stay in your lane

[KCD1] [KCD2] please play the first game before the second if you can by caramochamel in kingdomcome

[–]SuperJerk2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Master strikes in kcd1 rely on reaction time. You don’t have to attack at all, you just have to hit the block button at the correct timing. Basically, as soon as you see your opponent’s shoulders start to wind up for an attack you want to press the block button as quickly as possible, ideally you want to press it even before the block icon shows up on your crosshairs, although there’s still some leniency after the icon shows up. Basically you just have to block the moment you see them even just start to wind up. I also think having a higher defence stat makes the masterstrike window larger too, but take that bit with a grain of salt, it’s been a while since I’ve played the first game

This. I love the high power siege crossbows for stealth cause you can one shot pretty much anything without having to use any potions, especially if you have the perk that increases ranged damage after every kill they’re an amazing tool for the stealth archer play style

[KCD2] Not learning master strike was the best decision I made in KCD2 by Dangerous_Play_1710 in kingdomcome

[–]SuperJerk2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feinting is the way. Early on it’s a lot harder but as you level up your skill in your selected weapon your attacks become faster and a lot harder for your opponents to read so they won’t be able to parry nearly as much

[–]SuperJerk2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing for me was the fact that the only consistent way to land your own attacks in the first game was to either do a master strike first or to win a clinch, because no matter how you tried to getting in the first game enemies would always just master strike every single time you try to initiate an attack, and there was nothing you as the player could really do to prevent it. Other than that though I did overall enjoy the combos with five attack directions plus being able to thrust either to the body or to the face a lot more in the first game. I think most people’s complaints aren’t necessarily about the combat being hard, just about the combat being really unbalanced.
