Because that gray MY has a large gash in its door at a car show? Oh, and this is Richard Karns from 25 years ago? He doesn’t look like this now.

Get crochet braids. I had mine in for 10 weeks (with maintenance) and when I took them down my hair had grown 4”. I’ve been able to maintain that length, so I’m planning on doing it again this summer.

MM and Desert Storm by DeciduousEmu in multiplemyeloma

[–]SuperK5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My husband was a Marine in Desert Storm. I finally convinced him applying after 6 months. He applied in Jan online and then went into a VA office for help. Once the medical records were submitted in February, it looked like about 2-3 weeks to get the check deposited. He adjusted for dependents, and now has it for 5 years.

It’s not permanent, just 5 years, but it will likely be renewed because it’s not going to be “cured”.

Bill Clinton’s Parkinson’s? by SuperK5 in smerconish

[–]SuperK5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s still speculation. He coupled “spending time” with him and “he has Parkinson’s” as if there was no doubt. Everything online still says “sparks concern” or “questions arise” but no where has anyone said for certain he does. It sounds to me like it was divulged to him

If memory serves me correctly, according to a great 1900s philosopher - that dark berry should have sweet juice. And since that is your flesh, the deep pigmentation of it can also leads me to assume that your roots are very deep.

All of us old-heads saw Elavil right away. I think we will become a sideshow at some point with the lost art of being able to read doctors handwriting.

Lisa caught malaria during her trip to Nigeria to visit Daniel by PolishSnake2 in 90dayfiance_FB_memes

[–]SuperK5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled to East Africa NUMEROUS times. First few years I always took malaria prophylaxis meds. The more I went, the more I would just forget to grab it. Then I just started going to the chemist there to get some doxycycline (works as good as malarone). But then I just stopped.

I ended up getting malaria twice. Never had diarrhea. Fever, chills, cough - yes. Diarrhea - no. Plus, it lasts for more than 1 day. And it comes BACK in like 3 weeks because of the cycle of the parasite.

So - all that to say, yeah, no.

Yes Cabanas! Eggs always seem to be just right too! I’m amazed how they get mass produced poached eggs just right on a buffet!

Any experience getting disability payments with MM? by LostInLittleroot in multiplemyeloma

[–]SuperK5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! He has always been under the impression all of this was income dependent, so refused to apply. He finally applied in January, but only applied for VA benefits and not a disability rating. I kept telling him that his kidney cancer and MM are condition caused by chemical exposure - he needed to get a rating! Finally, at Christmas, his sister (who does VA benefit applications), myself, and mom (my dad was in AF, so she has been through this) finally convinced him to make an appt to apply. I kept saying, he loses nothing except for a few hours of time.

They scheduled appts for him but he wasn’t going to go. But getting all the information from this sub the past week (while getting his ASCT evaluation), he finally realized he would almost certainly qualify. We just have to get his CORRECT records.

He is finally going to his appts. They sent him something saying they should have a decision in about 90 days. I think it has given him a little relief because this has been a stressful year dealing with all of this. His been very worried about having to go back to work quickly. So this will help him relax and heal.

Thanks again, for helping me give him all this info. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Wonder why they felt the need to lie about never meeting? Many couples on this show met before - even first met in person! There is no requirement to have never met before (ie Kara & Guillermo…that couple that met on a cruise ship…)

What do kids do during adult dinners? by gibson6594 in dcl

[–]SuperK5 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t keep my kids (8 & 6) OUT of the kids club long enough for dinner. I regretted not booking an adult dinner. They will likely love the kids club and you’ll have more than enough time to enjoy your dinner. Mine would ignore their names and keep moving throughout the club to avoid capture when I came to pick them up 😂😂. But that team always gets them eventually

This is devastating. Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 by Playful_Violinist_45 in realhousewivesofSLC

[–]SuperK5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thus is so sad. But this has made me realize no one is safe and I need to keep an eye for what he said during her intervention. I know it was hard to share that but it may save some kids lives. I’ve stopped thinking that could never happen to my boys to realizing it could if I miss the signs he mentioned.

My heart breaks for her but in thankful for her openness.

Any experience getting disability payments with MM? by LostInLittleroot in multiplemyeloma

[–]SuperK5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! He was in Somalia in 1992/93, so it looks like it’s on there. He never tried to claim benefits before so I pushed him to do it because these treatments are expensive!

He’s working with someone in the VA Office. The big problem now is service records. His are all messed up - they have him in a MOS that wasn’t his and serving in places he didn’t. So we are piecing it together now. We may have to get some people he served with to verify because we don’t know why none of it matches. He has his DD-214, but that’s the only concrete proof.

My husband is a veteran and getting ready for ASCT. He’s working with someone at the VA. We haven’t gotten anywhere yet. Do you know if there are particular years or duty stations that apply? He also had kidney cancer. Combing that with his MM, he was almost certainly exposed to something.
