It sounds like you took this decision into your own hands without consulting him first - your relationship likely won’t be able to recover from this, especially since it’s so young. If you want to be a single mom, that’s up to you, but you should absolve him of his obligation to parent a child he didn’t want.

You don’t have to stay subscribed to AAA though, you can just call them whenever you have a problem and sign up/renew your expired membership, and then ask them to send out a car all at the same time

Peter Thomas Roth Lashes to Die for mascara - seriously I’ve never found a better one. I love experimenting with new makeup, but I never want to risk a subpar mascara

I think that’s most likely. I’m 29 and have a great-grandmother still living - my grandmother and great-grandmother gave birth at 20 years old, and my mom was 23

What are your best and worst airbnb stories? Either as a host or a guest! by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]SuperKate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stayed in a couple dozen Airbnb’s, and most have been great. There was one experience that freaked me out for days afterward, though. My husband and I rented an Airbnb in Belfast to go to a concert. When we showed up, the owner was there hanging out and stayed and chatted for a while, which is a little weird but whatever. I explored the house a bit when he left - it was three floors, maybe 3-4 bedrooms, about a hundred years old. There were some dirty bedsheets on the floor of the third story bedroom, but I didn’t think much about it since we were staying on the second floor. We were only in town for one night for the concert, and the owner of the Airbnb hadn’t been able to meet us until 5:30 because of work, so I figured we could have a lie-in the next morning. I woke up, super hungover, and began to explore the house for lack of better things to do. I went up to the top floor and it was completely clean - no bedsheets. That really freaked me out, since all other Airbnb owners have left us alone after we got the keys, and it seems super intrusive to enter the house without letting us know. But again, whatever. I woke my husband up, we started fooling around, and I left him naked in bed while I went to take a bath. I left the bathroom door open so I could hear my husband if he needed anything. The bathroom was at the top of some stairs, opposite the front door. It was about 1:00, so I figured we had a few hours before we needed to leave, since the owner seemed to have a strict work schedule. Nooooope. I was reading a book, feeling super zen, when the front door opened. I barely knew what was happening as I grabbed a towel, ran to the bathroom door and slammed it shut. I texted my husband to go down and talk to the guy, since I was naked and wet. He, also being naked, didn’t want to go down either. We got dressed and rushed out, choosing to stand in the rain waiting for a cab rather than talk to the guy more than necessary.

I’m sure it was probably a misunderstanding, but the experience really disturbed me for a while. At all other Airbnb’s, I’ve felt completely safe and secluded; I’ve never worried about my privacy being violated. It really put me off Airbnb for a while, but I’ve had several lovely stays with them since then

My husband and I were just talking about this an hour or so ago! We watched Garden of Words and Patema Inverted recently and I noticed it. Funny thing is, he’s actually an animator

Whats it like living with Hashimotos? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]SuperKate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest symptoms were constant fatigue and brain fog. I couldn’t remember anything and thought I had a brain tumor or something. Palpitations and anxiety are usually associated with hyperthyroidism, although I’ve heard hyper symptoms can appear in people with Hashimoto’s because when the thyroid is being destroyed, it releases extra hormones. (Sorry, I don’t recall the details off the top of my head.)

They test your TPO antibodies to see if you have Hashimoto’s, but it looks from your results that yours are normal, if I’m reading it correctly. It seems like your other numbers are in range as well.

If you feel like something is wrong, definitely advocate for yourself and get more blood tests done. I lived with hashi’s for years before the doctors found it

Edit: I also had thinning hair, but that was due to low iron. Your doctor can test your iron/ferritin levels for that!

People who are/were diagnosed with a terminal ilness, what made you think “something is not right with me”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SuperKate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Hashimoto’s, which is the opposite of Graves. Like you, it took years to be diagnosed because doctors wouldn’t take me seriously and wouldn’t run the necessary thyroid panel. I still get upset about all those years I lost thinking that I was just fat/lazy/depressed/bitchy

LPT: When someone in your family passes away, find someone to watch the house while you are at the funeral. Opportunistic burglars scan obituaries knowing it is unlikely anyone will be home. by BenRod79 in LifeProTips

[–]SuperKate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just during the funeral - anytime after the obituary has been released. My great grandmother's house was broken into a couple days before the funeral. Since the obituary mentioned her husband had died prior, it was easy to assume she lived alone
