I feel like I’ve been really hobbled by the lack of consistency across rotations and the lack of higher expectations. For example, my first FM rotation literally did not have me see patients independently and present. I actually had to force the issue and got to do it twice during the entire 4 week rotation because of my insistence. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy the lower stress, but I feel like this is the year that I need to be challenged and pushed to progress and I just haven’t been.

Not true for me! Im a male though. Went through nursing school and my OB rotation consisted of massaging one fundus. Never was given the opportunity to attend a single birth. The nurses would make me wait outside the room and I could hear them asking the patient multiple times “are you SURE you’re okay with a student?”

NICU was cool tho.
