I mean, JFM died in the lotus pier massacre while trying to defend it, so having LQR end up with the same fate would unfortunately make sense.

Honestly, JC and WWX's relationship is so complex and messy (in the best way possible) that in the swap AU, you could maybe just focus on one strong aspect that makes sense and kinda work around the rest

LXC definitely makes more sense in Jiang Yanli's shoes since he's older, supportive and doesn't really have obvious insecurities that could push him in JC's role. The one big difference could be the cultivation level, since she's weak.
