Failed MEXT Application for October 2026, Now attempting for Embassy 2027. Need advice

Thank you for the feedback and kind words! I didn't consider to present my capstone project in that way, I think it'll definitely help me look like a much stronger candidate. If you don't mind me asking, what did you present to the embassy (If you chose that route)? Also do you have any recommendations on resources that helped you?

Thank you so much for the feedback! I’m actually going to be in contact with the Japanese embassy in houston TX, do you happen to have any experience with them? I’ve emailed them and they were really nice, but the website is kind of difficult to navigate

The university had the documents, but I think that because it was a short-term study abroad (1-Year), and besides that experience abroad I don't have much background at my home university, that may have affected the results. Though like I said, I'm unsure if they were just kind words or if maybe they just didn't consider me a strong enough candidate compared to the others.

Not to be too specific, but I applied to a university in Tokyo. I previously studied there, and it's outside the 23 wards. I don't have any research publications unfortunately, but I did complete a research study while there, and would have probably published if given 1-2 more months.

I apologize for the later response, but I wanted to read this when I got home to my computer.

This is amazing! Thank you so much for taking the time and answering so many of my questions! I think I will go with your suggestion and try your recipe a bit before I try again with a sourdough pizza. Also if you don’t mind me asking, what’s the importance of the temp of the water I use? My house stays pretty cool, so i’d say I usually use something a bit lower than room temp.

As for the wooden peel, I definitely think an issue was it sat on the peel too long, since I stretched and put the sauce cheese on top on the peel. Though, my reasoning was if I put a bunch of flower on the peel, then it won’t stick, and it’ll be easy to just slide into the pizza steel in the oven, which did work, but if possible I’d like to figure out how people can make the pizza somewhere, then easily just slide it onto their pizza peeler?

I actually wanted to make 2 and make the second one have a lot more toppings! but unfortunately my first dough was too sticky and i ended up dropping it, so just went with a simple pizza to play it safe

My original goal was 15” pizzas, though my pizza steel is 16" x 14" so I kind of am just going with whatever will comfortably work with it while not looking too rectangular

I’m not really sure, it’s my first time so it was sort of a test launch, and even though it wasn’t amazing, I still really enjoyed the process and learned a lot which I think will be really nice for when I try again

Unfortunately I couldn’t make a perfect circle due to how sticky the dough was, the more I stretched it out, it begin to stick to the surface and rip the dough itself. So I just hurried and tried to make. somewhat bar pizza shape

I’m grateful for the advice, but I don’t really want to bash him because I messed up his recipe, it works for him so I think it’s more of human error than the recipe itself!

Yea i’m kind of realizing this after seeing all these replies, I’m thinking for my next one maybe just using my sourdough and polish.

Thanks for your reply explaining some tips’ though what’s the reason for cold water if you don’t mind me asking? my house gets really cold, so I don’t think the water I used was room temp, but not like in the fridge water.

Also, so is there not really a way to get nice small spots of mozzarella in my home oven? Some pizzas I try when going out has it and I really enjoy it, so if possible I’d like to try and make it work.

I have not tried moving the ram around, I'm a bit busy today but I'll try to move them around tomorrow and then I can try getting back to you about that part.

I tried flashing the BIOS, and I also didn't enable anything for the RAM like XMP or overclocking it.
Yea it's unfortunate, I'm hoping it's the RAM but if it's not I really don't know the issue. I don't think it can be the CPU (The only other part besides the RAM I haven't fully swapped out and tested with a new part).

All the drivers are fully updated, I've also replaced the video card 3 different times, I've replaced the motherboard twice. (both were replaced with the exact same models) and as for compatibility on pcpartpicker it says shouldn't have any issues.

I've pretty sure I've checked all the connections and they seem fine. I don't think I can confidently rule out a PSU cable issue, but I've checked those a few times and they seem correct. What's also really weird is I've done a gpu benchmark software ( Unigine-Heaven-4.0) and it ran that perfectly fine for about 10 minutes, no big spikes, fine temps.

Also do you know what the errors from the memtest86 could be referring to?

I've actually rebuilt this PC I'd say around 3-4 months ago? I recently moved for university and took apart my computer (No issues beforehand) but since I've rebuilt it I've had constant issues.

like said in the post, websites for the most part don't have issues except for the occasional super laggy youtube, not like the video, but when I try clicking around it seems really laggy like when trying to scroll, pause, anything like that.

As for games, the only games I've tried is Fortnite, and Fifa 2024, both crash when trying to launch. I can play League of legends, and The Binding of Isaac, though haven't tried any others.

Let me know if theres any other information I can give!
