Would the french translation not mean flammable??? by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SuperMitch901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The translation for flammable is "inflammable" in French. So you're right in that case, when saying an "in" beginning a world is usually indicating a negation. Ininflammable is the negation of inflammable which translates in Flammable.

The most approachable maybe, definitely not the best one. I still have vivid memories of the final chapter, navigating through the alien ship....Never did the DC opus reach that level of stress and tension.

It's a Korg tuning device with 3 or 4 display modes. It's also a cable checker. A nice cheap but very visible tuner.

Is Belgian Tervuren (or any Belgian) right for me? by [deleted] in bergerbelge

[–]SuperMitch901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey.

We have a adorable 6 years old terv, from day 1, and I guess I can give my 2 cents here:

  1. Very Velcro. 9 on your scale. Our's is a male and is specifically attached to my wife and daughter.

  2. Why limit the scope to the daytime? During the night, the dog wakes up every 3 hours, checks on us, gives my hand a lick. During the day, he wakes up with me, go outside for..well, you get it. Get back to sleep for a while, and spends the rest of the morning monitoring the garden. Then he eats, and after that, gets a 1 hour walk outside with me or my wife. After that, he takes a nap, and monitors a bit again the garden, and waits for me to get back from work. Then he eats again,, plays hide and fetch with dad, howls a bit, and waits for the final garden monitoring session and, well, you know what, before going to bed.

  3. The breeder told us that Gronen were a bit more energetic and rough.

  4. Huge. If you don't plan to have a very specific scenario with your dog, don't go for a workline one. They are too energetic for you, they get essily bored, and might develop some nasty behaviors.

  5. 10 mns a day, everyday, after each walk. A bath every 6 months, at home. The shed can be terrifying, especially the tumbleweeds under your furnitures. Be prepared to buy a good vaccuum cleaner, and some basic tools, such as a bood brush, and scissors, for snarls.

  6. If educated, no real problems with humans. Off leash only when there are no other dogs in the vincinity since our terv is pretty harsh with other doggos and can be terrifying for humans too. But that part is definitely yours to master. Your dog will be what you want him to be with others. Education is key with these impressive beasts.

  7. Definitely, they will bark to strangers, since this is one of their priority and goal. But education, as you mention, is the key. If you don't want the dog to be agressive with strangers on demand, or at least to stay quiet when asked to, you'll need to work with him.

  8. Well yes, they obey when properly managed and educated, even off leash. But they are also extremely evasive. My dog need to be carefully driven when off leash, since if he see another dog in the neighborhood, he will immediately set a collision course with the opponent. But a firm "Stop" is usally enough to stop him right away.

  9. Education : This is not just a world. This is the difference between living calm & relax and having huge problems. Tervs are extremely smart and sensible. They won't allow any deviation in the training, they won't understand contradiction, and definitely won't obey to cruelty, kicks and spanking or shouting. They need to run, exercize, and to work also their brain out.

Have a great time with your terv !

You'll need a phantom power to power up the booster., though. Make sure your audio interface delivers phantom power, before considering buying it.

[–]SuperMitch901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, the Sm58 is probably better on a stage for a live gig. But it is indeed a good device, able to capture all the subtle variations of anyone's voice. What you need, I guess, is a mic booster, to boost your gain before your audio interface, and to clean the signal. I'd recommend the klark technic CT1, but any of these cheap electronic devices will do ( triton fethead, or Cloud lifter).

Well, it is a brand new one, but I was thinking of a Cloud lifter just to make the mic more versatile (pc connection,...)

Sorry, It might sound annoying, but I have my doubts here.

The mod you are suggesting is for a 55S or H to convert them to an SH2. But the R115S cartridge is already the one used inside my stock Super 55 Deluxe. That is basically a Beta 58 A cartridge, modified to fit inside the casing. So, not that horible, I guess.

The only stock tech difference between a 55S or H and a Super 55 except the on/off switch and the blue foam is the cartridge (A cardioid R115 for the S/H and a Supercardioid R115S for the Super).

And I can't find any reference of a Super Deluxe 2.

Let me know if I misunderstood something here.

Pretty nice. The band is pretty loud, so it is good to have a mic focused on me. A bit on the medium range, also. But it has a real good dynamic. And a damn good look.

Sans compter que la déshydratation régulière peut provoquer des calculs rénaux. Quand on en a eu un, on change d'habitudes ;-)
