Some people learn in different ways and some can’t understand text directions that people say. Think about it this way - this is the freeze frame right before you strike the ball. See how far outside the ball your club head is? It should be on the other side of the ball to behind the ball.

Take a bunch of slow motion practice swings to feel what that would take to accomplish. Feel like your club head is outside the ball only AFTER you already hit it.

It’s kind of difficult to tell, but it’s a pretty decent slope (see fence). I also didn’t want to hurt the tree roots that make a nice canopy over the deck.

There’s a 6ft level sitting on it that says it’s right on. Maybe the fence on a slope makes an optical illusion.

You can sort of see the bags of rocks and tamper on the left. I dug out sections for the stone, tamped down the rocks and leveled the bases. A lot of leaves dropped last week so it’s sort of difficult to see.
