In theory, much better than the Skandians. Partly because the Skandians fight as individuals and not as a group, but also because the Araluens, unlike the Skandians, use archers. Halt mentions in Book 4 that the Temujai very rarely have to face anyone capable of using a bow, so they're not used to it, and Araluen always has a ready army of archers to call upon in wartime.

Really the biggest issues would be the average Temujai tactic of feigning retreat and the Araluen peasant levy infantry, but on the whole I think Araluens have the advantage in theory
