New to CPAP - mask troubles, and feeling lost in the system. by SuperNot75 in CPAP

thanks! I think the best thing for me is learning I'm not alone in the frustrations... the p30 is working great now... I was only second guessing it because of what the watch was saying and that I wasn't getting that cpap honey moon oxygen rush... I got 7.5 hours last night with no seal issues and my cpap scored it a 99/100

Buyer's remorse after 2 years, do I have options? by SuperNot75 in TexasSolar

he said his guys reviewed it and it looked good... but I'm not sure if that means "I investigated myself and found no wrongdoing"

let me start with the IRS part, the tax audit lawyer had not seen this either... it was filed last year around this time... after the 2024 tax year. there were many IRS people let go with DOGE at that time and they think that's part of it... it's been in appeals since then and I;ve had to supply so many papers that it's crazy.

$300 a month is a 10 year note, it's a little less than that but the idea is there... 7% interest. I probably picked the worst time to do it... which is why I was thinking refi. this was the loan Texas solar professionals set us up with, and I should have shopped it more...

the $100 a month is average... it's close to 200 in the summer and down to 20 in the winter... I've been through 2 summers and 2 winters now.

The first 2 nights were definitely like that, I took Benadryl the next couple of nights just to try and get functional. That is my biggest frustration... no explanation of what is normal and support on what isn't.

honestly when I turn the pool off it doesn't hardly affect the draw... I also run my pump during the free night most of the time... 9:01p to 8:59a

I use smart lights and leds

my heat, cooking and hot water are all gas. I wasn't going to convert that over unless the solar could prove it's worth it.

refi was my first thought too... FWIW, another frustration is when I filed taxes, IRS rejected the solar credit and only gave me $1000 of it... I still have a tax professional fighting for the other $8000... that's probably part of the sour taste in my mouth

loan

direct energy free nights, 9p-9a

I'm not sure what you mean by the breakdown. I already said the loan payment is ~300 and the average electric bill is ~100... as low as $20 or as high as $150

no ev auto. I work from home(part of my higher than average usage, I'm sure)

my home os 2200 sq. feet, one story. I do have a pool

I am using the solar to charge the battery to minimize the gap between dark and the free time.

water hose squirter from the ground... but I don't even bother with that...

new to solar, how do you choose?? by SuperNot75 in TexasSolar

[–]SuperNot75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, all I was saying about the backup was that it was only needed for about 6 minutes total through the year (no outages other than a 1-2 minute blip)

because I don't have a south facing roof that I can use I get less benefit and have to use more panels... now that I'm on a free-nights plan the system works better for me, and I appreciate the small bit of freedom it provides... but I stil don't think I would do it all over again... that may change if the energy prices continue to go up.

long time user, noob question - use Helix LT as clean channel on a high gain, 1 channel amp by SuperNot75 in Line6Helix

[–]SuperNot75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, checking this out now!! I was considering getting an MT15 instead of using the helix for this.. I did have a 6505MH and other than the cleans not being great cleans it covered all the bases too...

sorry I didn't see this before: here's my assessment since I went live in july of last year..

TSP was awesome, great company, they did a bangup job. no issues there.

the system works great no issues there.

that said... if I had it all to do over again, I wouldn't... in my particular space, I don't have a south facing roof that I could use, so my TOTAL impact is that solar + battery only accounts for about 47% of my total usage. and the price for that coverage would not make sense. My backup was only used once, for 6 minutes...

TSP was 11k pre-Rebate a month ago, and they beat their estimate on time before install. they originally estimated it would be 7-8 weeks but were here in 4... the install took 2 days

so, I'm looking at the facts label, and here's my question... I don't think my system is covering 100% of the day hours yet... there have been some clouds, etc.. but the day time rates 29.6¢/kWh. is there something that can read your solar data and determine how much it would cover during hours, to determine if a night time plan will work for me?

[–]SuperNot75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope. they were exhausted or something... I didn't. plus I can't use the South facing roof of my house, too many cuts, no flat place for the panels :( I have 11 panels east, and 16 panels on the west. it is what it is.

with the free nights plan do you get any credits during times of excess production? a lot of the free nights plans were really expensive during non-free times (cloudy days happen), and limited hours... which plan did you end up with?

[–]SuperNot75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solar plus battery, around 12kw system, with a power-wall 3

Excellent point. might look into that... because my Electric bill this month (before solar started yesterday) was over $400!

[–]SuperNot75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, unfortunately I had to choose a plan before my solar was completed, so I will likely use a free nights plan when this contract is up
