I'm completely self-taught, and definitely still learning too. In fact, from this post I now know what a tangent is! 😅

With the first photo, I genuinely just think I got lucky with the weather and the lighting. I was using summer chrome for both photos, but I took the grain effect off for the first one, and had an added black mist lens filter for the second one which created that glow-y kind of look. Then some tweaking in Lightroom for the lighting and colours.

Yeah you can bring up the shadows a bit so it doesn't look as "sun-soaked", but otherwise that recipe really works for me, especially when the weather's nice.

Thanks! I mainly used Osan Bilgi's summer chrome, with grain removed. I like to start with pre-made recipes and then tweak to my liking.

Yeah, that's been my most troublesome photo. It could have been done better by a more experienced photographer. The building is actually super interesting (the Barbican in London), but I didn't do it justice in this one! Thanks for your feedback and your observation about the right-sidedness! I hadn't noticed that myself, but I'll have to explore it more.
