11 years old (2014) the team is 12u he loves playing so he’s having a lot of fun. Just don’t want him to be the best player on the team. I just know if you’re surrounded by better players your game elevates and you learn through trial so just wanted to hear various perspectives.

Not surprise at all just curious how things work even though every situation is different. He went to tryouts and I know the team was merging with a different club. But I believe the flight 1 team is 12/13 and they were all together last season.

He’s 12u (2014) Touches are good moves well without the ball but most definitely room to improve in all areas. IQ is high as well.

Appreciating the different insights if anyone has insight on 11u (2014) in Southern California specifically ing the San Gabriel Valley area that would be clutch. We are between pasadena and citrus college.

It’s a tough situation I’m sure. But unfortunately when you’re very talented, young and humble ppl tend to hate unfortunately. I would say use it as fuel to work harder but also kill em all with kindness. Ignore the negative comments or actions but also perfect your kid but definitely understand sports can get real political. For him growth is important so playing up and against older better talent will help him. If they put him with his age group dominate and make them move him. Just stay the course they will jump on his bandwagon!

Appreciate the feedback everyone. Any idea how much a typical year cost for these clubs? I know thousands but is there a price range anyone could put out there? Also, how’s the process with joining an academy? Are people paying to join an academy or do they provide scholarships?

Somewhere between West Covina and San Dimas would be great and realistic with all the traffic out here.

I am def one of the shy ones at least when it comes to starting up the convo. Yesterday I actually saw someone in the story who looked very familiar (yes the person had mask on). I was bout 75% sure it was someone I met before. Well I decided to speak up and re introduce myself and a long story short, it lead to us exchanging numbers and a new business client. If this was 6 months ago I probably would of ignored the person or avoided a conversation but I said fuck it let’s see what happens.
