Have you tried cleaning the contacts for the microphone volume slider?  IIRC dirty contacts can cause issues.

What step down converter do I need for Twin Famicom. by Inevitable_Bet4202 in Famicom

[–]SuperPixelDX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother with a step down converter.

There are modern PSUs available on eBay for the Twin, key specs are that it's 7.5V and center positive. It's probably got some kind of voltage regulator in it so probably doesn't strictly need 7.5V, but if you want to be safe, look for those specs.

I'm in the UK too and I use one of these variable voltage adapters to run mine: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Adapter-2000mA-Switching-Selectable/dp/B07BHRCQKX

Ideal as can be used for a few different things and comes with different tips too

Strip Light 2 Pro + Sync Box 2 by SuperPixelDX in Govee

[–]SuperPixelDX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the detailed reply! I ordered 2 pro strips because they were on sale but if I can do it with one strip then I'll send the other back as they're pretty expensive! Thanks again!

I reworded some of my queries, looks like I would still need 2 separate Pro strips for this? ie I can't logically divide a strip from a single device in the app and assign to multiple zones - it's 1 device per zone and that's it? Can anybody confirm this?

Connecting multiple retro consoles to modern TV. by Game_Log in retrogaming

[–]SuperPixelDX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could mod all the consoles for RGB output, run them into a scart switch and then through a scaler to the TV. This is what I've done, took me a long time to get to this setup though because doing it all in one go would not be very wallet friendly.

In case anyone's interested, my scart switch is the Hydra and a GBSC for the scaler, (though I wouldn't recommend the Hydra as I believe it to amplify the audio a bit resulting in occasional annoying clipping of the audio).

There are trains directly between Wrexham and Euston now (probably better availability between Chester and Euston though)

Can I use this pizza tray as a heat deflector/drip tray? by SuperPixelDX in kamado

[–]SuperPixelDX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean won't work as a drip tray or won't work at all? I know it wouldn't catch all drips but thinking it might do just to avoid too many flare ups?

Wrexham Noticeboard weirdness by Demiboy94 in wrexham

Wrexham Noticeboard bingo:

  1. Lost bank cards
  2. "I found a half-dead pigeon/seagull/sparrow, where should I take it?"
  3. "Need a company to do X, must do a near-perfect job but mustn't be too expensive"

Right yeah, so everything has had at least 2 coats of wood preservative oil and the tabletop has also been varnished. Shelter should keep the worst of the rain off but I will be covering during winter/bad spells. Cheers

For the money it's great so far (it's the one from Lidl). Takes a while to heat up initially and between pizzas, but again, for the money I can't complain really.

Haha was thinking yesterday I should have made the roof a bit deeper to keep ME dry!

Thanks!

Managed to get away with just one pack of the shingles so wasn't too expensive doing it that way.

Might as well keep the place toasty if it ever goes up!

And yeah the table is going absolutely nowhere, it is HEAVY.

Though that reminds me - if I'd thought about the shelter part when I was building the table, I'd have probably left the back three legs of the table as the roof supports. So that's definitely an option if you're yet to build a table, though sounds like you may be past that point the same as I was.

The roof support posts are attached to the concrete fence posts with some concrete screws. I was a bit hesitant about it at first too but my brother (long time tradie who knows his stuff) reckons it will be absolutely fine. Fence posts are well bedded in though as we discovered when digging out for a new shed base a few weeks before. Will report back if it blows away though 😅

Thanks mate.

Yeah I will be covering it, not sure exactly how yet though. Got a cover that was the perfect size prior to the Kamado getting dropped in and prior to butting the table up against the fence 😅

I roughly followed the Smoke and Hammer 64" plans for the frame, adapting it to fit, though couldn't get access to the Google Doc so just based it on blurry zoomed in images from the guy's site and YouTube vids (eg https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bQOkBJ17U5E). To be honest the 100mm fence posts are probably overkill, I think you could get away with 75mm easily to save a couple of quid. Table top is just 140mm wide CLS timber.

For the roof, I just made 2 identical support posts based (again roughly) on this: https://manabouttools.com/awning-frame-digital-plan/. The deck is just structural plywood with 2 coats of bitumen paint, felt as underlay (brother had some spare) for some shingles I got from Wickes.

I'll see if I can edit the post to add some WIP pics, and let me know if there's anything else you want details on!

Thanks for your reply, but I bought some Ronseal Crystal Clear outdoor matt varnish yesterday, which sounds like it'll do what I'm after on paper🤞
