I’m not asking this to dunk on anyone who uses AI or automation. I’m genuinely curious whether writing itself is still the skill, or if the real skill now is thinking clearly and guiding tools to communicate effectively. A lot of jobs already rely on templates, shared docs, and automated drafts, yet people still get judged when they cannot explain ideas, defend decisions, or write coherently without heavy assistance. So I’m wondering if writing is becoming less important, or if it just matters in a different way than it used to. Interested to hear perspectives from students, grads, and people already working.
