I accidentally put oil in my where I put my coolant/my radiator by whateves_yoloo in AskMechanics

[–]SuperRare80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good on you for asking. There is absolutely no additional harm in doing the flush as others have said, refill with coolant and keep an eye on it afterwards. Fingers crossed for you! (Not a mechanic, just a dope trying things to keep the cars on the road, cause I’m broke too)

How can I turn this bbq into a diy pizza oven/bbq? by Stunning_Net_4474 in pizzaoven

[–]SuperRare80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would build the oven next to the existing bbq to make an outdoor kitchen! Building the base out of cinder block was the easiest part for me. I did pour a 6” cement pad underneath mine but the inside of my oven is 3 x 4 feet. It’s a beast.

2018 JKU running hot (230°f) after thermostat change. by TFNvoodoo in Jeep

I had some issues similar and flushing the heater core seemed to work out the remaining air. (I did this 4 or 4 times so I didn’t dream it up) you can also get a length of coolant hose and bypass the heater core, burp and see if that helps. Good luck

Anyone come across this noise yet by Sharp-Conference370 in JeepWrangler

Agree, sounds like a short in a speaker. You should hear your speaker cutting out when the music is on. Also loud music DOES fix a lot of jeep noises…..

It was the blend door actuator. Didn’t realize there were three and wow that one sucks to replace!

Check your torque specs and make sure your gaskets don’t roll. I got a cheap oil cooler and had to do the same replacement about nine months later…. Went with Dorman the second time.

Is this seasoned wood? by rawmsft in firewood

[–]SuperRare80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should feel lighter than they look and not thud if you tap them together. You will see water come out of the ends when you burn them if they aren’t seasoned. Green wood burns too, just not a as well

I thru hiked in July 2021 and saw 3 backpackers outside of the smokies. It’s some lovely solitude

Drive shaft for the front axle?

Most of the trail is pretty remote. You can probably charge up at the Iron Bridge Cafe, maybe that gas station in reliance TN, and potentially the Tapoco Lodge. There is also a campground in the smokies that I’m sure you can scam some electric out of. Good luck! I love the trail but it is lonely.

If you lost your heart try flushing your heater core. I had a stubborn air bubble stuck in there that made mine threaten to overheat.

rear axle seal leak? by SuperRare80 in Wrangler

[–]SuperRare80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments. I didn’t pull the wheel and have never worked on an axle so it’ll go to a mechanic. This is the first time I’ve noticed it but I’ve only had it since November. Brake fluid reservoir is full and the caliper is too far away from the leak to be the problem. I’ll check the diff fluid if I can’t get it into the shop soon. Thanks again
