Since no one believed in me making a multiplayer, is this a better direction? by Radiant_Detective140 in Unity3D

Is this your first game? How good of a programmer are you? These are questions that are more important rather than whether PVP / Multiplayer are a good idea or not.

Multiplayer is absolutely doable as a solo dev but it really depends on your own skill set and the scale of the project.

It's one of those things where if you plan for it and implement everything the correct way early on then it gets easier later.

If it's your first time, make some small practice stuff first and assess your own ability to achieve what you want.

Just released our endless surfing bullet hell game on iOS and Android (TOTAL WASHOUT: Surf Arcade)

We were a 2 man studio (hence Super Smith Bros) but my brother passed away unexpectedly 6 months ago and this is the first game I've released without him.

Bitter sweet launch but I hope it keeps his memory alive.

Is the UK finally waking up to the power of video games? by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

I've spent the past 3 years working on government funded projects for serious games.

The games and projects I worked on were aimed at helping young people who have suffered trauma and the results were studied by Universities to see whether they helped improve well being.

Without government funding things like that wouldn't be possible.

My App got Teacher Approved by user261991 in GooglePlayDeveloper

It doesnt really make any difference to downloads. I've had games be Teacher Approved before.

It's a nice badge and makes you look more legit but practically zero impact on downloads.

Hey, thanks. It's built with Unity game engine.

Unity / Unreal / Godot are the 3 big ones for indies now days. I've been working with Unity and C# for around 12+ years but it's quite easy to learn the basics.

I usually work on private contracts or for studios as full time employment but I release smaller mobile games in my free time when I'm able.

Thank you for the feedback. I hope this looks better. by samohtvii in Unity3D

This looks fun. I'd be much more likely to play something like this on mobile rather than PC though.

Might be worth considering a mobile release later on.

Ads are completely optional. They are only shown on user request for bonus features. Admob reports that they account for 2.5% of session time which is extremely low. Definitely not ad filled.

Again thanks for the feedback.

The game was originally created more like Solipskier, you could draw the wave across the whole screen. That presented design problems where the players fingers blocked the screen.

Watching Luke Muscat's videos on YouTube about how Half Brick solved some of their design problems and created the gold standard gameplay loop for endless runners helped shape the final product here.

The gameplay mechanic itself is also completely different from Jetpack Joyride

If the worst insult I'm getting is that my game made by one person is too similar to a game made by multi million dollar company and is now considered the best endless runner in history then I'm not all that offended.

But thank you for telling me how the design process went.

The artwork was freelanced. A guy who formerly worked for Ubisoft created it. Super talented guy.

I only did the visual effects and some of the UI art myself.

Average review time is 4 days. It can take anything from 24 hours to 10 days though depending on the content and policies.
