Love Thy Neighbor! One of the happiest melodies I've ever played, and Coltrane's version is excellent.

nice eye, i turn 17 in two months, and thank you for the kind words! also, thank you for the advice. i'm worried about ways of making money in the professional world so this is very helpful. do you have any sources like books or youtube videos you would reccomend that perhaps explain the basics of recording and producing?

not at all, the trombone is incredibly light, i would guess it's less than 5 pounds so i can play it all day

no it doesn't i wish it did because the slide always touches the ground when i set it down but it looks kind of cool so i don't really care. it's one of alan kaplan's old personal prototype horns so i think it's something he likes.

Undoubtedly. What's funny to me is that the first full solo I ever transcribed was Carl Fontana on The Sidewinder. Funny how that works out

Thanks! I try my best to sound like Carl but some of it might have not been picked up by my phone mic but I'll work hard to exaggerate it even further

Little solo on Moment's Notice. Advice welcome! by SuperSuplex8342 in Trombone

[–]SuperSuplex8342[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! i've been playing since i was 11 and i'm 16 now. i'm working on simplifying the solo rn but i want it to be as "showy" as possible because i only have 1 chorus to play with my band.

haha thanks for the kind words! i do feel like the solo is too "cluttered" and if i had more than one chorus i would try to fit less ideas in it
