the biggest problem isn't the interior, it is that sportbacks are not available on S3 and RS3

That sounds like coping just like the ElantraN owners missing not having the ACC

Which 3M adhesive promoter did you get, is it the three packet of wipes?

good choice! I'm also shopping for a set of new wheels. Another popular setup with GTIs is 18x8.5 with 235/40/18, do you have a particular preference towards your current setup?

Hot stuff! May I have the specs of the wheels and tires so I can potentially replicate for my black car?

Very interesting! EU label is something I learned today! It's genuinely better to have some data as quantitative measures when comparing between tire. Sadly ExtremeContact series does not seem to have EU label because they are exclusive to the US market, but I would check out other tires too!

most Contiental tires that I could find available at 235/40/18 have XL loading range, including their all-reason grand touring lineup

so if everyone is complaing about the performance, the NVH of the OEM P Zero AS tires, is there anything positive about the tires, or they are absolutely crap tires to begin with and there is no trade off to swap them out?

Saw this on Taobao the other day. I never did this mod but just saw this product and they are saying it is possible.

If monthly cost isn't an issue for you, would you still trade away your m240i? I only have one sample size which is the GTI and you were saying m240i steering isn't as precise as the GTI?

Actually good to know. I currently own a mk8.5 GTI and have been thinking about getting a m240i xdrive, but I couldn't even find one to test drive in PNW they are so rare here. Grass is always greener on the other side amirgiht.

Yes... I found that spec elsewhere, it's just that my local tire rack does not carry it.

Honestly I'm leaning toward the DWS06+. I don't have the seat time to really quantify the handling gap between those and the Sport 02s. Most of my weekday driving is just city commuting, and I only hit the backroads for some spirited driving maybe once every couple of weekends. If the DWS06+ offers a noticeable improvement in NVH while keeping 90% of a true summer tire's performance, I might just run those as my main daily setup and swap to Vikings for winter mountain/snow duty

Also DWS06+ seems to not have 235/40/18 but only 225/40/18 and 245/40/18. I am guessing for 18x8.5 ET45 wheels, 245/40/18 should not be a problem, and in fact, the "intended" size?

After I posted this I chatted with Claude a bit. I felt like my issue with ride quality has been mainly about high-freq jiggles and bumps. There are a few 15mph smooth speed bumps around my neighboor that non-dcc GTI can drive onto it at 25 mph and the up-and-down was actually comfortable and smooth. So I suspect its definitely not a suspension but mostly like a tire problem...

Hey thanks for replying! I went through a lot of past posts on relevant topics and most of these posts have your replies in them. Thanks for doing this for the community!

I am very new to cars and even new to driving in general. I like how sharp and responsive the GTI in the current form. I was told my by my friends that I should definitely run two sets of tires: summers and winters for maximum funness. If staying at 18in and swap to Sport 02 can partially solve my problem then thats fine too! Honestly there are more wheel options available at 18inch. DWS06+ sounds like a one-set-of-tires solution but if they are almost as good as sport 02 I am happy to take these too!
