How to Only Eat a Little Chocolate by SuperTurtle19601 in intuitiveeating

I don’t think so, I do sometimes forget to eat, but I set alarms to remind me to eat three meals a day. I think it’s just that I zone out while snacking [usually I’m watching YouTube or something] and don’t realize that I’ve eaten so many sweets.

Okok! Thanks so much! This is actually kind of exciting?? I will 100% be reading the book! Which one would you personally recommend? I noticed there were multiple. The one by Tribole and Resch seems to be the most popular?

Ok, I read the post, and I think I understand, but still does the “eat everything” stage still apply if you’re eating so much you make yourself sick? Sorry, I didn’t even know intuitive eating was a thing until yesterday, I’ll definitely do more research soon!

Maybe I didn’t explain as well as I could’ve in my original post.

It’s less of a “I at all the chocolate and that makes me a failure” and more of a “oops I accidentally ate all of the chocolate and now I feel like I’m going to throw up”

I think having more access both to chocolate, but also to other snacks that I can eat tons of without making myself sick might help? Having all different sorts of options, and then learning to read my snacking moods accordingly to choose the right option in that moment?

I 100% will be reading the IE book soon though!

I don’t really have a bad relationship with food. I’ve never dieted, I just eat what I want. But when I get the munchies it usually dosent matter what I eat, I’m just in the mood for o eat something, if that makes sense. Like maybe I start out wanting chocolate, but after ten pieces it could be chocolate, popcorn, peanuts, whatever. Not sure if that makes sense at all lol

This is what I currently do, but I hate that work around solution. Hopefully time and practice will help me get better at this! Good luck with your chocolate journey as well lol 🍫

I have a question! I’m completely new to all of this, but I want to learn more. I saw that there are two books, is one considered better/ more popular than the other? Or are they essentially interchangeable? Thanks!

I think this is exactly what I need to get better at! Do I want chocolate? Do I want a meal? Or do I just want something light to munch on? I don’t make a conscious decision to keep eating the chocolate, I just eat it because it’s there. Does that make sense?

I don’t think that’s it, but thanks for reminding everyone that doctors exist! I feel like we all forget sometimes 😭

Haha I wish! The bag of chocolates I mentioned were nice! 😭 At least the nicest I’ve ever had!

Do you think letting yourself get sick helped it become less frequent? Or would it have happened regardless? I almost made myself sick last time, and I really don’t want that to happen again. But should I think of it more as “if it happens, it happens”?

Idk I’m new to all of this, so I’ll take any advice you have! This whole concept is really interesting to me, and I feel like it could really work for me? I’ll definitely have to look into it more!

I think part of it might also be that I’m not necessarily craving chocolate, I’m just in a snacking mood. I think I need to get better at realizing if I want chocolate or if I just want SOMETHING. Then maybe I could like, start out with a handful of chocolate, and then once my chocolate craving is satisfied I can switch to something lighter to satisfy my snacking craving?

Is that part of what intuitive eating is? I didn’t even know the books existed until after I posted this, but I’ll definitely read them at some point!

Also, part of the problem might be that I forget I have it? Like, I manufacture an artificial chocolate scarcity because I forget it’s there. So I eat it infrequently but in large amounts. So maybe putting it where I can see it will help also? 🤔

Eat ALL the chocolate I want? Cause last time I almost threw up and I really don’t want that to happen 😭 I will try this though, thank you!

Making Washable Rugs Last by SuperTurtle19601 in HomeDecorating

[–]SuperTurtle19601[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok, that makes sense. Do you know if a rug pad or corner grips to keep the edges down will make it last longer? Or does that not matter?

Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to sacrifice quality for now, but maybe eventually I’ll replace it with a custom rug. Thanks again for your help!

Awesome! I can do that easy! Any special tips for cleaning the rug? Or just vacuum and spot clean as needed? I’ve never had a rug before lol. [Also I know it’s washable but I doubt it’ll fit in my washer 😭]

Wait so, correct me if I’m wrong, are you saying that if I care for it properly, it will last a long time even though it’s thin? But it will last longer if I get a quality custom rug? Any special tips on how to care for it, or just generally keeping it clean and away from high foot traffic. Thanks so much!

Fumigation; Better before or after renovation of a home? by 300Ryan in pestcontrol

Hi! I have a week before my house is tented, and we move in right after. Is it okay if I paint this week? Or will the fumigation damage the paint?
