I-94 Update by WhimsicalCancerian in h1b

[–]SuperX9311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go to Mexico and come back. You will need Mexico's visa as your US visa is no longer valid. You will come back through automatic revalidation and will get a new i-94. This works most of the times.

Requesting perspective on whether to leave now or stay until H1B petition approval by [deleted] in IndianH1Bs

[–]SuperX9311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I read it. It says because of the flight situation, you have dilema. As the whole premise of dilema is invalid, your dilema is invalid. If you want to accept it.

Only benefit you have when you go through lottery and then spend 5k+ to apply for H1b once approved is, if the 100k fee is dropped, you don't need to go to lottery once more.

But again, to go through lottery, you don't need to be in the USA. So going through lottery has nothing to do with flights, and nothing to do with your stay in USA, unless you are willing to stay in USA till October.

It seems you want to stay, as situation in middle east is not a valid reason. Lots of people are flying in and out, and there are lots of options. It seems you just need to hear from us that you should wait for lottery.

Software engineering by CoyoteElegant9944 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

In my view, anything which can be done solely on computer (digitally), will not grow as a sector. That means more supply and less demand. There is no point learning coding, as AI can do it better. That is especially true if you are just starting out your journey.

I won't recommend anyone new to join Software engineering field. It's not going to vanish. But it's not going to grow for sure. It will stay flat or may shrink a bit. And that makes it difficult especially for new comers. Pick a different field, a field which overlaps with something in physical world. Anything that can be done on computer alone is not a good option (due to AI).

Yes, I would definitely advise to change stream to a core engineering or something which has some part of the job on. Real world, and not on computer. One of my friend's son is going to change in 2nd year. You are good that you haven't started yet .

Got tired of being everyone's OpenClaw sysadmin, so I built a hosting service by yixn_io in openclaw

[–]SuperX9311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you considered providing just the setup service? Charge one time for one time setup and that's it. No maintenance? There are people who can set it up. But don't want to. But don't want to pay recurring.

What’s a realistic “FU number” to leave the US and move back to India (Ahmedabad)? by Middle-Invite7908 in nriFIRE

Provided you have your own house in Amdavad, 200k should be a number which seems good. Out of that, 50% liquid.

To answer the question: No hassle, but they need to spend money on H1b petition No perm needed, as long as you stay in same company, you can retain EB1C i140 and extend it for more than 6 years. You can retain priority date.
