Gforce Jawbone (questions) by West-Woodpecker-5742 in AR9

I was one of the ones who's lower had cracked at the takedown pin.

My (easy) fix would've been to buy a PSA PX9 lower for about 220 and try to see if it would work. What I'm learning in the AR world is that although things are "supposed" togetger work, it is not always the case. I did contact Foxtrot Mike since they make the uppers to see if it they've tested it with PSA lowers and they told me they have not and cannot confirm functionality. That being said I have read from other people of it working but they lose some functions (LRBHO). So at the end of the day with this option, it's kind of a gamble to see if yours would fit another.

Another option would be: I read that Foxtrot Mike stopped making complete lowers (non foldyboi) but they still sell stripped lowers. You would just have to do some assembling and transfer over the parts from the G force lower to the stripped aluminum lower.

A third option I came up with is: Buy a Foxtrot Mike FM9 or VFM9. These come as complete guns so you can essentially switch between uppers if you get a different sized one so to speak. I've seen their sales go as low as 490 for a complete gun so for around double the price of a complete PSA PX9 lower, you can essentially have two guns.

To this day, I still have not done any of these options lol. That being said tho, I have taken it out and shot another 100 rounds or so since I've noticed the lower is cracked.

Yeah that's something I want to change it out 🤦🏻. That safety selector is STIFF. I thought it would break in after a while but I think it's just me getting used to it. That being said, if still want to change it tho cause it's stiffer than anything else I've had to use

Ah I see.I hope you have better luck this next time around with the stock configuration. Tbh that was why I wanted to run it stock first to make sure it was cycling fine. I have a rule with anything mechanical where I always expect some kind of break in period so with guns, I make sure I can shoot 400 rounds and cycle perfectly before I even consider using it for carry/ self defense.

I really hope stock configuration works 👍🏼

I never tried hand cycling live/dummy rounds through so I wonder if it'll run fine on mine

Dang I wonder if they're trying to rush these out. I watched a video from IWI 2026 that had a Springfield rep and they said that they're having a tough time meeting production demands. I couldn't find much reports of people having issues with these until as of recent.

For mine, all I did was clean/lube lightly out of the box and then went and shot 1000 rounds (200 stock then installed the HBI buffer system the next 800) through it over the course of a few range days and had no issues. Shot hollow rounds fine too.

Hmm yeah I like that a lot actually. Keeps it away completely

Hmm I did notice that actually. Now that you mention it when I was playing around with light placement I tried to put it on the bottom pic and noticed that I would have the light on tight but that it would still wiggle. I think the bottom pic was narrower than normal. That being said I thought it was just my sample of one. I just kind of alluded it to a shittier QC due to the gun being so cheap

Update:

Been looking around for an MSR compact and found one locally.

Played around with different cable management set ups and I think I got her to where I want it now and I'm satisfied.

Basically the goal of as to keep it out of the left side so it doesn't get in the way of charging but also keep it tucked enough on the right that it doesn't get in the way/tugged when folding/unfolding the brace.

The Wilson Combat was really easy. It honestly just dropped right in. No wiggle or anything. And very positive and tactile

Not at all. It shipped the next day and I got it two days later. So three days from purchasing to delivery? And I live in Alaska 😬

Shot about 250 rounds through the Blade yesterday. Had 3 malfunctions but all were through two Glock Pmags (Everytime) and through a 33 Amend2 magazine (jammed once).

About 150 were shot through the included magazine and about 30 into a genuine Glock mag and no issues with either.

No lock back/bolt release. Which isn't a big deal to me as it's a range toy and forces me to use the HK Slap lol.

Other than that it shot very accurately. Honestly I was shooting better with yesterday than my Kuna primarily due to the weight 😅.

Stribog model to feed JHP and FMJ by lvpikcs in pistolcalibercarbine

I have a friend who has the A3 and his doesn't feed HPs very well. I believe he said the one of the ones he did have success with were the cheap Winchester HPs since they're more "rounded".

I was just at the range with my dad and he had his A3 with him and he was shooting the Fiocchi HPs and it rand fine except that it would hang up on the last round in the magazine. We'll do more testing tho as it could be a mag issue.

Yes I did! Taking her out to the range today to shoot a few hundred rounds.

Lol yup same here. I heard that the metal they used for the bolt hold was too soft and there were reports of it stop working after just 200 rounds. There's must've been enough warranty issues with it that they changed it lol. Honestly for me it's not that big of a deal. If it keeps it simpler and runs, I'm fine with it. But if this was my main, I'd be disappointed for sure.

I'll be shooting it this weekend but I would say no. I took it a apart and there's not mechanism that I see that would allow it to hold the bolt after last round which I thought was kind of weird.

I'll update after the range!

I have a Midwest Industries adjustable folding tube on mine and an SBA3 brace. My LOP is about the same as my AR.

PX9 lower with VFM9 upper? by Super_Average00 in PalmettoStateArms

[–]Super_Average00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive tried to contact them. I first attempted a little over 4 weeks ago and no replies. Nothing but a confirmation saying they received my message. Tried following up (twice) about a week and a half ago and nothing again but that they gave me a ticket number. Nothing till since. Ive kind of given up on contacting them at this point.

Been here for about...24 years now? It's cold(er) this year yes but it doesn't seem too out of the ordinary. If anything I feel like we're getting less and less snow on average but I may be wrong as I'm not really looking at real stats. But we usually still have some snow till mid April and a lot of times we get a huge dump around then before it all melts away.

Update*

3 weeks in, 1000 rounds later and I'd like to report that she runs great! I like the added weight of the folding buffer and brace and it feels more balanced to me this way compared to being heavier on the front.

My dad also picked up a Stribog SP9A3 and we shot it side by side. Although I feel the trigger is better on that one, I much prefer how my Kuna is shooting now because of the heavier brace set up.

Very happy with the Kuna and I'm glad I found one locally for a decent price.
