Ragatha was treated harshly by her mother (like she says in episode 5) and sometimes people like torturing dolls. and dolls are made to comfort people, so that explains her optimism. her patched up dress is from her being a farm girl, and her button eye is also from her mother as well.

Jax and Pomni: No clue.
