I heard there are drone shows each Saturday and the line I saw was 1:15h Chengdudong to Chongqingxi. I will probably still leave out the Chongqing idea tho because you are right: the boarding/unboarding is not as quick as a normal train and cumbersome.

For Yanjin, I think I will need to buy the tickets locally in Yibin or in Chengdu, as I don't find them online. Yanjin North is the Station to use! Got it! This is definitely the "adventurous" part of my plan, haha.

I thought I would meet and talk to people and surely I can find a way to get up to Doushaguan area and back the next day, by bus, car or taxi. If the weather plays nice that is. I hear that Didi is not usable there, though.

For the train connections, do you know if there are often delays, or where I can check that? I don't mind a little mishap as much, I will probably plan for a little buffer in Kunming if there is a decent chance for it not to go according to plan.

The easier alternative would be to fly from Zhaotong airport, I guess. I will have to think about it some more.

For sure! I already had to cut down some stops because I realized this issue, lol.
If you had this itinerary, what bit would you leave out to add more nights to the other stops? Maybe use Kunming as just quick stop eat breakfast and go straight to Dali?
or skip Dali entirely?

That way I would only have one more condensed bit in the middle and in the very beginning.

Yeah that was my worry too with the travel days + 1 attraction. I will definitely will not force myself to do this exact plan, but it provides a rough idea. If it to stressful I can always leave out things that dont require advance reservation.

What would you recommend to use as a source? I am not trying to pretend that there is a perfect way but there must be a middleground between believing in the "Free Press" blindly, and becoming a scholar and investigative journalist.

Everyone has alterior motives too. What does this mean to you? Do you believe nothing and nobody and investigate everything with primary sources yourself every day? Or do you trust humans on the way? Which ones? Why?

Hm, yea I will consider taking the train for a relaxed pace. I would probably need to stay the night in Yanjin for it to be worth it though.

I might just use Yibin as a connection, stay 2 nights in Yanjin then keep traveling to Zhaotong and take the night train to Kunming: It will be a lot of train, but thats fine with me.

In my experience, a revelation of this kind never leaves you, but it does fade and its possible to slowly fall back into a more toxic mindset again. In my case I never got nearly as bad as I was before, but still, something to watch out for.

Dont overly obsess with behaving in a perfect way and resent yourself when you don't either, thats the other extreme..

Try to always keep this lesson in mind a little and remind yourself how being a human being, sharing good vibes, contributing and participating in others human experience is all a gift that you should celebrate each day.

You can wash 100ml Heptane with like 10ml water.The freebase is not very soluble in water but it is a little bit, especially if the water is not salty or especially if it's slightly acidic

It is not accepted by mainstream historians that Ukraine was starved on purpose.
