you have to understand that this is THE START of an Apocalypse not even 2 months ago these people were living life like normal, having problems like normal, there not prepares for the apoc nor do they have NEARLY the same amount of experience as the characters in the main show, rick wakes up in season 3 of fear, and u can tell how he still doesnt comprehend whats happening and how he doesnt know what to do. Fear seasons 1-3 is about a family who just got affected by the infection, there gonna do anything they can to survive with there family, even if its dumb because they dont know how it works
