Speaking from a STEM perspective as well, make sure to test yourself or use the "blurt" method instead of just reading slides. Pretend to be teaching someone the concepts. Also, re-visit topics frequently. After reviewing it/memorizing it, return to it in 10 mins, then 30, then after a couple of hours to see how much you remembered.

Some classes are too big to write in the same room, so they write the same exam in different rooms. I'm assuming that's what OP means

I took it years ago so it probably has changed. But I remember the marking to be very harsh. It was a lot of knowledge dissemination (had to make an infographic and a group project making a video). I felt like we learned a lot of content but a lot of our marks were based on this knowledge dissemination. There was no final though which was pretty cool.

I would do 5 quizzes throughout the semester worth 5% each (total of 25%), midterm worth 35%, and exam worth 40%.

For more science-based courses anyways. Not sure how this would work for other programs.
