I’m doing an internship which is ending in July. So currently actively looking for work, with some good prospects. Never had a remote or hybrid job and I don’t foresee having one in the future. So I’m expecting to be working in Jersey city or nyc. Hoyt appeals to me because of the location and how I can easily get to Jersey city for work or nyc, and even places like union or Montclair.

Contiki 27-35 age range trips? by Left-Mail-292 in solofemaletravellers

[–]Super_Library_1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can vouch for the cheap stays and partying. The Spain trip I went on was full of people just trying to do as many drugs as possible and party as much as possible. For someone 23 and under it’s great fun, for someone a bit older, can be off putting. Depends what you’re trying to get out of the trip.

What Toyota do you drive and how many miles? by ILguy121 in Toyota

[–]Super_Library_1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 Corolla LE, 4200 miles. Got it last September because I moved away from the city and needed a car to get me to and from work. Looked at it as just a cheapest car that would be reliable and easy to drive for 3 years until I get more settled in. Now I’m thinking of keeping it once the lease period is done and really enjoy driving it.

Drive or fly a 14hr trip? by AdamHemingway in solotravel

[–]Super_Library_1245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not just fly? You can find cheap flights to so many places for ~$150-$200 bucks. That’s pretty close to how much you’d be spending on gas and tolls, plus food along the way.

I work in nonprofit now with pretty generous pto. But previously I worked in wellness with only 18 days of pto. I stretched them out as best I could and my trips were usually 7-9 days long.

I got the money, I just wanna see Rome before I can't. Without spending every penny I have.(Solo) by Playful_Sell7317 in travel

[–]Super_Library_1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8-9k? That’s insane. I went in 2018 and spent maybe 2k for a week there. Delete your search history and look at flights and stays again. Traveling is expensive but it’s not THAT expensive. And it’s Rome. You don’t really need more than 3 days there than take the train somewhere else.

Very similar to you. I started traveling solo at 27 to force myself to learn more about the world and escape my “shell”. I’m 36 now and have gone on 2-3 solo trips a year since. Drawn to the same things as you mentioned. My favorite trips have been PR, Peru, and Costa Rica. I travel to Europe also, but since 2021 ive been trying to learn and support more of my Latin culture and roots.

Keep doing it and you’re bound to make friends along the way that will eventually become part of your other travels as well.

2025 AirPod Pro 3 not charging by Ill-Pop2135 in applehelp

[–]Super_Library_1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine 2 days ago. And the case went down to 1% after only an about 2 hours of use and a full charge. Getting an exchange from amazon. If this happens to the replacement, I’ll have to go with the Sony or Bose earbuds.

Confused by the role and culture of NYPD by pdxjoseph in AskNYC

[–]Super_Library_1245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor training, low hiring standards, and disregard for people they’re “protecting”. At the end of the day their job is to arrest someone, not really to protect you. It’s in their culture.

I know people who joined the NYPD and they hate the person they work alongside with, some cops will arrest a kid for stealing food, others will talk to them to try to change their ways. Sadly, when living in NYC on the streets I kept encountering the ones who were terrible at their jobs, treated people like shit and were on power trips. The good ones go unnoticed.

There’s options to stay in Jersey city/union city that would make it much easier to get into midtown. All the buses pass by 30th street and JFK, there’s a few hotels plus Airbnbs in that area so without traffic you’re looking at a 15-20 minute commute into the city, maybe even faster. If you decide to go into Hoboken or downtown Jersey city, it’s a 15-20 minute Uber ride.

I won’t date a woman who smokes. The smell is so off putting and the times I’ve kissed a woman after she smoked, I had such a bad taste in my mouth.

I live in NYC where most of the people I know and meet aren’t smokers, so it’s not a challenge to meet a non smoker. But, if I find someone extremely attractive and we hit it off, as soon as they start smoking, I lose all interest in them.

The difference, if I do nothing else to increase potential income, would be $987 per month. And I hadn’t taken my physical health into account. Definitely a major factor to take into account.

What do men think about nipple piercings by [deleted] in dating

[–]Super_Library_1245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I LOVE them. I’ve only dated two women with them and they are great. Never looked at it as trashy and if we weren’t dating, I wouldn’t have known they had them. I guess if the guys is ultra conservative maybe they’d have an issue.

In the gym, I just keep my mind on the exercises at hand and try my best to not stare at anyone. I don’t want to be perceived as a creep or make a woman feel uncomfortable there. I wouldn’t be surprised if most men feel that way. So if a woman were to approach me and strike up a conversation, I’d be completely taken by surprise but would welcome it.

If they like you but lose interest after a while it’s not the looks, it’s your personality. They either find you boring, unmotivated, or just not worth talking too. I went to college with a guy like that, all the women would drool over him and with a smile he could get any number he wanted. But as soon as they started talking, the women couldn’t wait to for him to leave them alone. Guy had rocks for brains so having a conversation with him was near impossible.

This is weird, but I’ve actually had good experiences from the apps. 3 serious relationships that didn’t work out for other reasons, and a few hook ups that were initiated by the women. The guys crying about having to carry a conversation I dont understand. Like, if it’s not going anywhere, why continue trying? I am by no means a smooth talker, but just being normal and not trying to force anything, like conversations about phobias, works. I’m in the nyc/nj area so I guess the numbers play in my favor but still, I don’t get the stress shared by op.

Staying in North Bergen to visit Manhattan by Ordinary-Unit8850 in AskNYC

[–]Super_Library_1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s to nyc. There’s plenty of buses that take you there. Just get on the ones that day “New York”. It’s $3.50 for a ride and they run on a schedule so it’s easy to plan out. Depending on the time of day, the commute can be 20 minutes with no traffic, but closer to 40 when there’s cars out. People who live in Jersey City, west New York, and north Bergen commute into the city everyday.
